Guys, as I mentioned I have boom mat under the carpet...it's about half inch thick padding. I have it covering the entire floorpan and trans tunnel...wondering if I should ditch that and just put carpet straight onto the metal pan? There is a limited amount of padding which came already adhered...
Thanks for all the tips people. I'm gonna pull it all out and try using a combination of heat and steam....at this point if I can't imagine I can make it worse. I'll update with a picture once I'm done.
Gawd this has been frustrating. I followed the instructions, and used recommended spray adhesive, but so far I cannot seem to get the bumps and ridges in the molded carpet I purchased from 1A Auto to lay flat. I have new Boom Mat underneath to which I applied adhesive before pressing carpet...
Not many people hold the above models in high esteem, but if you do, or you just happen to own one out of poverty, getting a new windshield for them can be quite the chore. I searched wrecking yards and Pick-A-Parts across the nation looking for a used one for my 74 Satellite Custom 4 door to no...
74 Satellite Custom four door sedan. Basic as it gets - slant six - power nothing. I added a brake booster kit as the stock system was too hair-raising. Getting a new headliner installed as I type and have a new windshield on its way.... very tough to source as the sedan and coupe of this model...
I just added a custom brake booster and master cylinder, since I didn't feel remotely safe without vacuum assisted stopping power. Allegedly a former unmarked, surveillance Riverside CA cop car, the seller advised it had been in the family since his mother, a PD employee purchased it back in the...

On my 74 Plymouth Satellite, this looks like it should just pull off, but so far I haven't managed that. Anyone familiar with how these are removed please?
Brake Technology Circa 1974
Saw Bob the brake guy today. He opened the hood and pointed to where the brake booster normally is and said "that's your problem right there."
Evidently they are working as designed, a statement for which words fail me.
So I was referred to these guys...
Thanks for the welcome guys. That made for an interesting evening... she's a psychologist, and pronounced me "beyond hope." Anyway, managed to drive the car on the freeway home for 48 miles. The brakes are dire and will be priority number one. I attempted to upload a picture earlier and I will...
The trouble and strife is laying next to me as I type. She doesn't know it yet, but when she gets home from work tomorrow a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Custom, with a 225ci slant 6 1bbl (RG motor) will be in the driveway. I swapped two immaculate1977 mopeds (50cc motorbikes with pedals) plus some...
