I have a pistol grip in my 69 but I had to change the mixer to a 70 model or my fist hit the dash shifting into 3rd. The 70 mixer had a shorter stroke.
I would be more worried about the coolant in the port. Where did that come from? I would do a leak down test. That will find bad rings, bad intake or exhaust valve seal, bad head gasket. There is no adjustment for valve lash, so the only way it can change is through push rod length. If your...
Just a suggestion, I bought a set of 906 Aerowheads from Indy a few years back. I never thought of looking at what kind of freeze plugs they used. They used steel and now they have rusted through and I am replacing them with brass. They don't allow antifreeze to be used at the track, incase...
Sorry to hear about your cat. My neighbor has a cat that has destroyed MY GARAGE, and 69 Roadrunner. It has sprayed my car cover and scratched the paint. My garage smells all the time and it even sprayed my tool box. She takes no responsibility for her cat. I often find it sleeping on my car...
What's scary is that it doesn't seem dumb at he time. I had just removed the rags in the galley 1min. before. That thread chaser had to squeeze past the cam lobe and be perfectly parallel to the cam. It took 1 hop and disappeared. Never saw that coming. Can't fit anything around space...
I'm thinking it might be easier to pull the cam. That way I can see straight down where it went in, If that lobe had been in a different position it would have kept the tap from getting by. Bad luck all around.
I can't believe this just happened! I had just replaced a bad freeze plug in my 69 383 and was getting ready to bolt on the intake. Just to be on the safe side I was chasing the intake threads in the head when the tap slipped out of my hand. It dropped in the third opening in the block above...
I recently had a flat on my 69 Roadrunner (nail). When I took it to be patched at a Goodyear station I was informed that they no longer will patch tires that are over 5 years old. They said the risk was that they could explode when reinflated. Pep Boys pluged the tire,(no charge) but their...
I've owned this beauty for 15 years. In that time I have restored every part of this Roadrunner. It is B5 blue and has a origional 383 with a pistol grip shifted 4 speed. Power gets to the ground via a sure grip 8 3/4 with 3:23 ratio. B block is origional bottom end topped with an Edelbrock...
