Great job!
How long did it take to get it to where it is today?
Just curious.
I'm not in the market, as I still have my beast deep in the resto process.
Best wishes!
Thanks everyone for your advice and for sharing your knowledge.
I have found an answer to my quest for a 440 block locally! And the build goes on......
Love this forum! You guys rock!!!
Thanks again, much appreciated!!!!
I used the QQ1 Electric Blue in Deitzler PPG for base coat.
An enamel I believe. Used every drop of it so, I don't have a paint can label to read.
Urethane clear coat was by House of Color. $$$$
I used some pretty spendy brands and other brands also in levelers,
reducers, hardeners and anything...
Hey all.
Thank you all for your advice and input on available engines
It's highly appreciated.
I think I'll pass on this rebuilt one.
I's questionable and I don't have enough knowledge or the experience to inspect it myself.
It's also too far away for me to send my trusted machinist friend to...
Exactly!
I think I'm going back to looking for a 440 block in Texas. At least then I could have my machinist check it out and decide if it's a good one or not. I don't have the expertise, myself. I trust his judgement.
I have found a newly rebuilt 1969 440 engine and I'd like to ask you guys for an option about a price. (I am going to ask him for the name of the guy who did the rebuild on it)
This is the description he gives of it.
It was rebuilt a year ago and has a performance cam it was built by a very...
There are many different B5 Blue colors.
This was just from my experience in finding my blue paint color.
I went with Electric Blue which was a 1968 or '69 color I believe.
Chrysler called it Electric Blue.
Dodge called it Bright Blue.

Chrysler called it Electric Blue.
Dodge called it Bright Blue.
Regardless of what it's called the PPG code number is 13354.
You can't just go by a color's name, they can have the same name and be very different colors from one year to the next and also from one manufacturer to another.
I was...
I'm just curious and don't want to horn in on anybody's "find".
We don't have space for anymore cars, time to work on them and we don't really need parts for the ones that we already have.
(I know, you can always use extra parts but, we just don't have any room to store them for a "maybe"...
I'm not a facebook fan but, I did a search on google for this shop and this is what popped up.

Seems that this guy doesn't have any regard for anyones life.
EDIT: The reason for not having to get an inspection at the time also might be due to that when asked if I was going to register it as an antique vehicle I replied yes. I had the 1967 Texas plates with me and they were approved right then and there. We have several cars that are registered as...
I completed a Texas Affidavit of Inheritance form for each car with my siblings notarized signature showing that they were in agreement with my taking ownership of the two cars. My sister was with me when it was filed at the DMV and there hasn’t been any problems in that regard.
The other...
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone here have any recent experience in getting a Bonded Title through the Texas DMV?
I’m confused as to what forms are needed and what the process is to get the VIN verified. The DMV requires a form that was called an Out of State Identification Certificate...
