I believe the G prefix is only correct for 71 440s and
not for 383 which were produced much earlier than
the 440 started production.
I have pulled at least another dozen 383/440 blocks and shortblocks
of Greggs out of the trailer. Discounts if you buy several and quite a few
would fit on a...
My very close friend George Thomson(RIP) owned Carburetor
Flow Engineering in So Cal. He had a wet flow bench as well as
a dyno. We did extensive research on the Thermoquads (mostly
him while I just watched.
When the Air Door was opened to far it disrupted the flow and
atomization out of the...
I have sold good core blocks for $375 for many years.
Still several sitting in the shop. That is really about the fair price
around the West Coast. The main trouble with Motorhomes is they
are impossible to scrap and no wrecking year out here will take
one when you are done. I have to get a...
I have around a dozen 440/383 Blocks from my friend Gregg Luneauk (RIP)
I will look for that particular date Monday and contact you if
I have the date you are looking for.
They will not cost much as I need them out of my trailer.
When I open the secondaries to 90 degrees,
even with changing the jets and Air Door openings
numerous times I lost significant observable HP.
However, of course I do not expect anyone to believe me.
Mine are always only open 86 to 88 degree as
I have found that best for performance.
I believe why it might be is air flow over
Secondary emulsion tube is disturbed over
that amount which hurts power.
My .02 = For free!
Go ahead everyone feel free call me an idiot again.
Agreed.... The 66/67 are a real pain.
I do not know how you got a 10 inch slick on
it unless they are short or it is modified.
For just driving around = I would run a 70
series if it is not going to be raced on those tires.
A quarter inch is not much difference in spacing.
I will separate the engine/trans and
the rolling body if I need to do so.
There is double the amount of money
just in parts that what I am asking.
The mechanical work has only 800 miles on it.
Speedo was reset when installation was completed.
I usually get a year or a bit more out of the newer
built Digital Boxes.
The old Analogy Boxes......... Forever, given I do not have a
electrical wiring issue that destroys them and that is on me.
Pitted on North top of track next to our Friend Goodyear Racing
Trailer.
