    440- Got hot and got noisy and lost pressure

    You were right. 2 bent pushrods on #8. 1 lifter popped and there went pressure. What causes this, too much rpm? I had 6000 chip in msd box, i will go to 5500. At least it looks like the only damage so not too bad.

    440- Got hot and got noisy and lost pressure

    Havent pulled valve covers yet. Rocker shafts only get oil at 2 points on cam rotation and dont want to spin motor to find them. Keeping fingers crossed that new pump is the cure. I will know tomorrow.

    Okay, spun primer with drill, no pressure shows on gauge. Removed oil pump, and no broken parts. Removed pressure spring bolt. Spring had no pressure up against bolt, is that correct? Piston under spring moved freely. Ordered new mellings HV pump, should have it today. For the hell of it, we put...

    440- Got hot and got noisy and lost pressure

    I got my primer today and we are removing pump tomorrow. I hope to find a problem in the pump. Will post results. I will spin the primer in there first to get a feel before removing.
