    Thanks everyone for your answers. I guess the one we saw in the past was an "adaption" by someone restoring theirs. Also, once the back plate was actually installed onto the console, there is no gap. :-)

    We are almost at the end of restoring a 67 Charger. We've heard and read about a light at the back of the short console. I have the back plate that finishes the console, but there is a gap at the bottom. Is that where the light goes? I can't even seem to find a picture of how it should look...
