I'm going to continue to use Mobil One Synthetic oil. BTW....WHO ARE the experts you refer to? Likewise who are the oil/lubricant chemical experts referred to ? I'll check facts and ask them to substantiate their postulates/claims.....I like factual information not hearsay claims. I'm...
What are the "yellow" metals you describe??? If you are referring to "brass" there are 20+ grades of brass plus the silicon bronze alloys that look like brass. And what component of synthetic lubricants are detrimental to "yellow" metal? Just curious.....i've used Mobil One synthetic in my...
I've successfully resigned and built ignition systems (liquid and gaseous fuels) for both industrial and automotive applications....so that qualifies me.....

You are entitled to your opinion......and i have mine......no.....except my net worth is FAR greater than yours....and I'm laughing at you......your turn.......

I use a pull rope to start.....and magneto ignition....works every time.....nothing wrong with bias ply tires....let's have a "thinking" contest or compare check book balances .......what ever your real name is......

YES.....THE BEST ALTERNATIVE IS TO REVERT BACK TO POINTS AND CONDENSER METHOD.......realizing you will lose 50+ blazing HP and increase in MPG, etc. Everything promised with ECU is smoke and mirrors.....

This is the way I've always done it.....pull center carb if/when necessary.....no big deal....always use a new gasket when reinstalling.....I always spray the new gasket with silicon spray to facilitate removal next time.....my car is a RS23V0A****** '70 GTX......

But what was the tire pressure during the tests. The pressure must be within 0.05 lbs front to back differrnce. One degree (1° +/-) will make no difference.....must be a perceived difference rather than a physical difference possibly due to air density or temperature or fuel...
There is a distinct difference between parkerizeing and nitritriding
Parkerizing is a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of a chemical phosphate conversion coating.
nitriding, process for hardening the surface of...
Perhaps you or your builder can install a degree wheel, test springs, test lifter(s) and measure the cam profile in relation to the crank. Somewhere on the cam is the manufacturer's name part number, s/n etc to ID the cam.....that way you would know what you have for future reference. If the...
What are the cam specs? Stock cam profile means nothing...so does radical cam....was it degree in? Advanced or retarded or on center? Speculation without numbers is worthless.....what does the manufacturers cam card say? Has the "engine builder" supplied you with installation specs, bearing...
FYI.....
Surface hardening is an economical method to impart high wear resistance in selected areas of the casting. Most common surface hardening methods include flame and induction hardening.
In flame hardening the form of hardening is due to transformation hardening in which the surface layer...
FYI.....humidity effects air density. The more dense the air, the more heat the air contains or the air is heavier. The shroud helps move the more dense (or heavier) air thru the radiator or heat exchanger for better heat transfer .......

Will O'Reilly repair the transmission based on their recommendations? .....probably not....they recommend what they sell based on margin. How about 000 (triple 0) a semi-fluid semi-solid used on heavily loaded slow turning open gear trane if you're worried about temperature.

Try calling the oil companies or do a google search in your area. Synthetic's.have a broader temperature range snd viscosity index. Compare the SSU index. IMO.....stay away from 140 grade too thick to circulate thru the needle bearings.....but its up to you....

What type of oil will you use as a replacement? Suggest using a hydraulic oil, either ISO-VIS 32 OR 46 OR 68. The Saginaw pump is a vane pump and needs/likes a hydraulic oil for anti foam, anti wear, temperature stable at pressure characteristics.....not ATF. CONSULT FSM to be sure
