so the "I" terminal really only energizes the "switch" to allow the Batt term and the "S" terminal to make contact to crank the engine...it is the brown (ign 2) and blue (ign 1) that fires the "spark", correct? I will do some more testing and tracking tonight...thanks guys...

yep, I have the plug wires marked so I don't do that (has happened to me as well over the years...LOL) I actually checked the timing, it so happened to be lined up on the balancer and peeked inside the #1 and the piston was on top, rotor pointed to #1 as well. I will double-check the wires on...

...pickup gap is .008 and the pickup res was at 269 ohms...measured from the pigtail, I just don't know how to interpret that (good/bad). I will have to get some clips to make a jumper wire tonight. I will report back with the results. Thanks for the suggestions.

here are few extra tidbits....new 93 octane gas (dropped tank to fix leaking sender seal), good ground at ECU (new Chrome from NAPA, cant recall the name), no longer have any bulkhead connectors (all electronics in the interior with new wiring)
