OK, I did a little research....if this is wrong, someone smarter tell me.
Makes perfect sense that a heavier hood needs different springs, something not always considered.
I just dealt with an aftermarket 'glass hood on an A body and didn't even consider the "stock" B body hood needing...

These were with car, but so was a hood latch support for a similar but wider Mopar.

Old crusty passenger quarter skin removed and patches made for the hole in rear of the rocker and area where inner wheel house meets rear window framework.

RF was beyond saving, hit at least twice, rust and bondo was everywhere.
Previous repair was a gas weld braze, perpetrator got a little ham fisted with the hammer / pick and sunk the top of the fender down...
