    Woodward Dream Cruise 2017

Been living in SE MI for about 15 years now and my best advice is to be sure to cruise on Thursday and/or Friday night, the crowds and not-so-classic cars tend to clog up Woodward on Saturday. Going north through Ferndale, Berkley, Royal Oak, Birmingham, West Bloomfield and finally Pontiac the...

any source for actual performance brake drum shoes?

+1 for Porterfield R4. Relative to an organic friction material, they will wear the drums more; but, not very much especially considering how much better they perform. (and much more friendly than hawk race pads on rotors)

    Original front disc brakes?

They look just like the Bendix 4 piston setup on my '68 Charger. I am in the process of restoring mine since one was weeping fluid from the piston seal. Here's what I've found: Caliper restoration: Seal kit: Centric makes one which isn't hard to find. There are some other seal kits but many...

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

Um - maybe I wasn't clear enough. I bought reproduction calipers which appear to be from A1 Cardone as a stopgap solution while my original Bendix 4 piston calipers (from my 1968 Charger R/T) will be sent out to be rebuilt (cleaned up, sleeved and rebuilt with new pistons and seals) I am...

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

Gotcha, it must have been too early! My originals are all the same as well - all 45deg single chamfers. The new ones have the extra chamfer on the bleeder hole.

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

Maybe I just need another cup of coffee - but I may have lost you. I think you're saying that there is no secondary chamfer in one of the holes on your new calipers, right? And you're right, most of the rebuilders seem to have disappeared or aren't doing that work anymore. I'll check out...

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

Thank you all for your help so far - My concern on swapping the bleeder is that the sealing surface in the 2 holes isn't the same. The holes are identical on both calipers I received and they are sold as right or left so I am guessing they are all like this. One is machined for an DIN/ISO...

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

In case you were wondering, I didn't /want/ A1 Cardone. They're not my first choice; but, that's actually what Year One (and almost everyone else) is reselling. Centric's rebuilds have been out of stock for quite some time (according to Centric). Also, the reproduction calipers are just a...

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

The seal around the pistons - but it's more than just seals will fix - looks like they need seals, pistons and likely sleeved. The only hesitation I have doing it myself is to get the bore clean while maintaining the correct profile.

Bendix 4 piston caliper issues - need help

Hi all - I'm having some issues with my '68 Charger R/T front brakes. It has the original 4 piston Bendix set-up and like everyone else's they are leaking. My plan is to replace with the A-1 Cardone calipers (being re-sold by pretty much everyone), Year One rotors and Centric pads while I had...

WTB: 1968 Disc Brake Bendix Non-floating Caliper Mounting Bolt

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't find these bolts. Tomorrow I'll be sending a local custom bolt manufacturer an RFQ to see if they can make them.
