How much slop is in your distributor shaft? Does the advance plate move nice and smooth? Just a couple more items to check.

I’d say 63 for me. Old? Maybe. Wicked? Probably. But, with age comes wisdom. The wicked parts are great for reminiscing with old friends.

I’ve used JB Weld to repair rust pits like those before. The problem is that the pits have to be clean, about the only way would be to sandblast the springs.

I had mine made at my John Deere dealer.

Remove the shift rod for 3-4. See if the shifter still has the same feel, if it does then the problem is in the shifter. If not see if you can feel it by moving the transmission lever. I’d bet the problem is in the detent or maybe the shift fork/slider. Pull the side cover off and have a look.

When are we going to see pictures with the new wheels? Or did I miss them on another thread?

275/60x15s on 8 1/2” Americans with 4 1/2” bs on the rear. 225/70x15s on 7”s on the front.

I measured the holes on my 64 Savoy, looks like the larger whole is 1 3/4, smaller hole is 1”. PM me if you want a couple.

Measure them both, I’ll see what I’ve got.

What size is the plug? I’ve got an assortment of used ones, I’ll give you one if I have that size.

On a truck, I’d be tempted to run them without the centers or the trim rings.

I found some really nice year of manufacture plates to put on my cars and truck. If that’s allowable in Iowa.

Hey Mike, what carburetor is that? Looks nothing like any that I’ve seen on any 318 that I ever had. Mighty fine looking Polara, early Bs are my favorites.
