I’m looking at some online and I think they installed it backwards. That’s why it has that little lip on the outside lip/edge. Having it inside would make it easy to remove because of the grooves on the outside.
Based on that video. But your thoughts that this isn’t part of the crank itself...
My dad likely has the tools but does that 2nd outer ring (the more yellowish one) also come out together with it? Or do I need to do something else to get that one out?
Ok so I marked them in the picture as 1 and 2. my dad says he can remove 1. But how does he remove #2. The outter ring one. Same way you just mentioned? Or is that officially part of the crank?
Also sorry to bug you. And we really appreciate your help! We aren’t experts when it comes to...
I mean where the 727 mounts onto the crankshaft. The hole looks like it’s for a 4speed is there anyway to change that or does it come that way? I have the correct flexplate right now. I’m just wondering if there’s a way to make it fit or if I’d have to replace the crank shaft? Or just remove...
Looks like our 440 was built for a 4speed. Wondering if there’s a way to change this to make a 727 fit or if I would need to swap out the entire crankshaft? Let me know. Thanks
We got one overnight shipped. Not an expert on these things and I’m helping my dad out. So turns out now the crankshaft was the 8 bolt but doesn’t fit the 727 looks like it was made for a 4speed. Is there a way to make the 727 fit? Removing something? Or is changing the crankshaft the only way?
This would be perfect but they say it’s a few weeks to receive and I need it a lot sooner than that. Any others ? I can’t find it no matter how much I try they’re all external balancedwhen I search
Do they make 8 bolt crank flex plates for 727 big block torque converters with the 11 inch 11 1/8 size hole diameters? Has to be for internally balanced engine.
I have an internally balanced 440 with a 8 bolt Hemi crank. The 727 big block I have has a torque converter that is about 11 inches...
Correct. But that style is internally balanced? With the non taper balancer style as seen in the photo. Are those normally used on internally balanced engines?
I know it’s a bad picture but if you guys could zoom in and let me know. I was told it was internally balanced. Would help to know with other questions I had.
im looking to have a 383 4 barrel engine rebuilt. Ran when pulled about 15 years ago according to the owner. So it would just need to be refreshed. No machining needed. Just torn down and refreshed and put back together.
I’m located in Southern California about 20 miles north of Los Angeles...
my car has a dealer installed 6 pack. Wanted to get the correct carburetor, intake and air cleaner. If anyone can point me to the correct part numbers for each that would be great. Not in a rush to get them but will be keeping my eye out for when a date correct and fair price come out.
My 70 b body leaked a little gas when parked on incline. Of the two lines at the end one goes into the trunk the other is small. Would it be ok if I block off the small one ?
so turns out my 440 six pack has had a center carb with a 4375 list number. Googled it and it says manual transmission center carb. My car is an automatic. Is it bad to run out like that? Or is it ok? Would it give me any problems?
