I have the Borgeson steering box kit from Bergman’s and I installed the pulley on the pump but the shaft has some play when pulling and pushing. Wondering if that is normal or if it needs to be pushed on further to remove the play?
I hoped that the intake manifold was going to fit after having the block decked but it does not. I had the machine shop take .020 off both sides and tried but still need more, going to try to get it in soon enough to be able to try again today.
Left side is before, right side is after first try...
Keep us posted, maybe pics too. My Coronet has green carpet in great condition other than some discoloration where the heater core leaked. Save the green ones!
So after a bunch of cutting and grinding I have the engine in its home. The brackets needed some removed but the factory brackets probably would have worked after cleaning up my buddie’s birdshit welds on the K frame.
Thanks again for all the suggestions, I really appreciate them.
I think you’re on to something. Pulled engine back out and found this.
I’ll remove that corner and try again. This is what I LOVE about this place, you guys are awesome!
This is my’69 Coronet, I have had both sides in one at a time but can’t get them both together. I had a friend weld a skid plate on the K frame and he added some beads where it looked like it could use some. I just ground some off around the front side of the driver’s side, waiting for some...
I’m installing my engine and I’m having problems with bolt alignment. New 440 Source mounts and brackets. I had the same problem last summer when I tried installing it with factory original brackets and the junk mounts from Summit, I believe they were Anchor brand but had the same issue with the...
In 2022, I got my engine back from the machine shop. It is a’67 440 .030 over with Wiseco flat top pistons at .000 in the hole and a stock steel crank. I bought the first set of heads I could get my hands on which were Edelbrock Performers with 84cc chambers. It has been assembled and ready to...
After watching the local classifieds for months I located a big block, when I went to buy it I found the guy had a bunch of different engines and was in more of a hurry to get rid of them than he let on when first talking with him. I ended up with two 440’s and the 400 I went there for, plus two...
I’ve been meaning to get a thread started for this for a while and I can’t guarantee it will stay current at this point but here goes. In 2021 I finally found a car after years of planning and searching. Here it is, first day at it’s new home.
It was kind of drivable, but it needed some work. It...
