1974 charger SE, wheel well opening trim fitment

I installed aftermarket wheel opening trim on my 74 Charger. Yes, I had to massage it. The repro trim doesn't fit perfectly but is better than nothing. The profile is slightly off but as long as you are replacing all 4, it won't be noticed. I replaced mine 4 years ago. Take your time. I'm adding...

    Dimmer Switch Grommet

My memory has been jogged. At least 35 years ago, I parted out a C-body, between a 66 and a 69. That must be where it came from. It's the only part I have from that C-body. Thanks. Terry W.

    Dimmer Switch Grommet

I was sorting through some floor mounted dimmer switch grommets I have received with 1970-71 E-body and 1974 B-body replacement carpet. I do not remember my 71 Challenger, which I bought in 1972, having a grommet around the dimmer switch and I didn't put one in when I replaced the carpet around...

71 Charger upper door panel refurb

I did a little different approach on the whiskers. I got some steel (stainless?) staples that were close to the width of the original staples and inserted them through the whiskers and holes in the panel and bent them over. Worked well. Terry W.

Bad Lower Ball Joint out of the box?

If it were me, I'd replace it if I think it's too loose. As you said, it's easier to replace now rather than a year down the road when it's all done. I just did this on a 72 Challenger. I didn't like the upper control arm bushings I received in a kit so I bought another set and installed those...

Does Fathers Day get any easier?

I lost my father in Dec 2019 when he died at the age of 92. I lost my father-in-law in 2021 when he died at the age of 91. They both fell and hit their heads and were gone a few days after that. My FIL was one of the kindest people you could meet. He tried to have kind words for everyone even if...

    Leaking distribution block!

I keep thinking it was The Right Stuff. Black. Very thin coating. A silicone adhesive would work also. Any sealant not affected by brake fluid. Terry W.

    Leaking distribution block!

I had a new proportioning valve leaking from the top fitting as you described. New washer didn't stop the leak. I finally had to put a light coating of sealant on both sides of the washer and that sealed it. I was careful not to get much on it to prevent squeezing out and into the brake system...

“Video” Another Possible Hydraulic Roller Lifter Failure?

Interesting what you found. Maybe I missed it but what did you find in the oil filter? Alot of metal filings or not much since you didn't drive it far when you heard the noise? Just curious. I also feel your pain about finding a reliable engine rebuilder locally. I've always rebuilt my own...

May The 4th Be With You!

The wife's and mine 49th wedding anniversary is today. We were cool before we knew it, since that saying came out in the movie a year later. Terry W.

    Worst night of my life

Be patient. You will find the right one. I asked a young lady from church out in 1975. She had been dating a guy but I thought it was over. We had a nice dinner at a restaurant and went to a church dance afterwards. I got a couple of dances in with her and then she disappeared. I waited around...

When Is Your First Day To Mow The Lawn?

The wife cut it for the first time yesterday. As soon as she saw me uncover her riding lawnmower, she moved in and took over and cut 3 lawns. I know all I have to do is touch her mower and she's out there. I can drive my cars but not her riding mower. I finally got a riding mower of my own but...

74 Charger SE front fender availability

If you have your original fender, repairing it might be the next best option. I have a damaged fender on a 74 I want to rebuild and unless things change and they reproduce fenders, I'll be fixing the fender on it. As stated, place a want ad here also. Shipping is always a killer on big items...

Pics from Back in the Day

Going through some old photos and found this photo taken of a 71 Hemi Cuda convertible about 1990 at Portland Int'l Raceway in Oregon if my memory is correct. I remember talking to the owner and he told me he had paid like $40k for it. He had a couple of other Cudas there if I remember...

    Is Bigfoot Real

My neighbor swears that Bigfoot lives up near my cabin and that I know it and I'm protecting him. I tried to reason with this neighbor. I told him if I knew Bigfoot was living near my cabin, I'd try to capitalize and make money from it. He wasn't buying my reasoning. He told other neighbors who...
