Typical cost of a lower end build 383

It's a 318 Satellite so it's not numbers matching. I have no idea what the motor came out of. The only numbers I've seen so far is the date code which is 69. I guess once I pull the motor I should be able to find numbers easier.

Typical cost of a lower end build 383

Life got in the way of calling the engine shop They've been in business since 1949. Very reputable shop. My brother has had a Ford motor done there and it came out amazing. I'll have to see what they charge but the prices you mention sound reasonable. I keep on going back and forth on...

Typical cost of a lower end build 383

I'm just checking to see what the typical cost are. I'm calling a local shop tomorrow but I figured I'd check here to see what others have paid. It's a 1969 383 4barrel motor. I'd like it pulled apart and everything looked over. If original parts are in good shape clean it all up and put...

    Is this new alternator right?

We have a shop that rebuilds here in the Raleigh/Durham area in NC. I decided to return that to Napa and picked up a round back style. I'm not running any thing aftermarket except the stereo and Vintage Air heater/defroster unit. Appreciate the feed back guys.

With that unit I see diagrams and other people have two wires going to the ign post and one to the field. I only have two wires total.

    Is this new alternator right?

Okay. I thought the numbers would’ve been higher on this. Here is the link to the voltage regulator I bought. It’s the same one I had in the car before. Couple questions- -So a wire from alternator positive post to the black side of ampmeter? -Should I do a heavier gauge wire from the alt...

    Is this new alternator right?

I read that on a dual field you need to ground the 2nd field to the case but I want to make sure before I do that.

    Is this new alternator right?

So it is a 1969 Motor. Does it matter that I use this style alternator. This is the alternator that comes up for a 1969 Plymouth with 383 but it doesn’t math the alt I took off. Here is a picture of the output numbers.
