WTB P2843177 Mopar (solid lifters) Wanted, 4 or more, incomplete set.

Hey everyone: Looking for an incomplete set of P2843177 solid lifters (hollow, with the pushrod seat held in by a snap ring). Maybe you broke a set for a Slant Six and have the 4 spares, or maybe just extras laying around. I need these to complete a partial set I have for a V8 application. Thanks!

MagnaVelocity SBM mushroom Direct Connection camshaft?

Clearance is not a problem as much as having a machined (flat) surface for the lifter to contact IF the valves float (missed shift/driveline break, etc.). I do have the cutters, and a friend has agreed to lathe me up a block bushing to pilot the tooling with.

MagnaVelocity SBM mushroom Direct Connection camshaft?

Just curious if anyone here has ever run or had experience with the only (to my knowledge) Direct Connection mushroom cam offered for small block engines? It's specs are pretty formidable, 324 duration with .633" lift (1.5 rockers) and a 110*LSA. The Mopar Performance books never mention it, but...

Cam Selection Help - 383 stroker

The 275HL is the one for you, with those rear gears. I have run the 275HL in a Duster with a MoPar 360 10:1 shortblock (came with the too radical .508" cam, 248*@.050") and Edelbrock RPM heads, and 3.23 gears. Worked fantastic, with a 2500 stall, it had power from bottom to top RPM. I run a...

Selecting Cam, getting that low rpm off-idle response?

With the static compression listed, if degreed-in advanced (maybe 108?), it should have decent low end for a cam producing that much vacuum. Tighter LSA would definitely help off idle, but the vacuum won't be there.

Selecting Cam, getting that low rpm off-idle response?

The Crane 272-2 (216/228*@.050" 112LSA) hydraulic would give bottom end and good vacuum. Also the small Elgin/Summit white box cam (214/224*@.050" 112LSA) would be a cheaper and milder option. The large Elgin/Summit (224/234*@.050" 114LSA) or Crane 278-2 (222/[email protected]") would pull a little...

    My 440 Build Your thoughts

I really like them, for a street application that actually DRIVEN that needs to LAST. Making 10 more HP on a dyno but being noisy and/or peaky not (usually) the best choice. Some of the Crowers listed will work fine as well. In an automatic trans application I have used the 282HDP with good...

    Cam question

The old proven 272-2 Crane EconoPower (.454/.480") sounds good and gives a boost in power with minimal changes, but Crane appears defunct (again). Lunati also has the same grind in their "Street Avenger" line of cams, and a slightly more aggressive "Factory Replacement" series that will show gains.

    My 440 Build Your thoughts

Those springs will work with the Lunati and Crane I listed. The Comp is a fast-acting lobe with .525" lift and may be pushing it. Although the Crane is a .504/.528", it is a slower rate of lift and I have personally run it with those exact springe with no issues. My GO-TO cam for a street...

    My 440 Build Your thoughts

That .484 cam is not ideal for street use with ported big-valve heads. I'd say a Comp XE275HL cam, even with 1.6 rockers, would perform better at lower RPM and let the head mods work. The old Crane 302 Commander would also work good, but I think Crane is MIA again. Also, I did run a 285...

    400 Build Ideas

I would do a 400 with the cast crank and focus most (money wise) on the stock heads (346/902/452 etc. castings). If the bores/pistons are good enough for a re-ring, mill the heads .060" on the deck and .072" on the intake face, so the manifold will line up. If you need a bore-job, go straight to...
