Need help keeping my '66 cool

Hey everyone! I've been posting on a B body group on facebook but people are rude there, someone said they hope my car burns down. I have a 66 Satellite with a 383 and it constantly runs hot. It stays cool enough on the freeway but the second I sit at a red light the needle starts rising...

66 Satellite Charging Issue - Need Help Quick

I did pick up the manual...I'm going to need it! Used to know a good Mopar guy but he moved away so I'm kind of figuring it out as I go.

66 Satellite Charging Issue - Need Help Quick

My daily driver broke down and I have no other way to get to work than to take the 66. Last time I took it out, it was doing fine, took it on the freeway, then when I was almost home, it started discharging. I did alternator, battery, voltage regulator, and some wiring in June and had no...

    66 Satellite 383 performance upgrades

This is all really helpful everyone, thanks. Car runs really good as is, nothing needs immediate attention...I just wanna go fast! Not that it's a slow car, as is. It does have the Carter 4 barrel.

    66 Satellite 383 performance upgrades

Hi everyone, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I sold my Dart today and figured a good way to help numb the pain would be to buy myself some stuff for the Satellite. I've got about $1000 to play with, what are some places to start so far as performance upgrades go? Thanks in advance!

I have the trim and all, but it came to me without it installed and I haven't replaced any of it yet.

First B Body (and first big block too!)

Thanks! There's a decent amount of bondo and I'm a little afraid of what's under that, but I think it's solid, and there's no shortage of time...if it takes years to get it all straightened out, that's okay.

This one has the 383 with Carter 4 barrel and the 727 3 speed auto. I think there were two different 383s for that year but haven't been able to find out for sure.

Definitely! I don't want them to know I'm coming until they're looking at my taillights.

Thanks for the welcome! Do you know of any good cruises or shows coming up other than Hines Drive and Woodward?

Thanks! I get that about the dog dishes a lot. Some people try to convince me to upgrade wheels but I think it looks mean as is.

I should have written it in the post...it's the 383 with the 4 barrel carb. Might be a *little* quicker than my Slant 6 Dart...

Hi, nice to meet you all! I bought a 1966 Plymouth Satellite in May after owning a Dart Swinger for about 7 years. It's my first big girl car and I'm trying to learn as I go, but I do my own work and have plenty of questions. So far, it's been a great car and it's going to be with me for a...
