Hi, I have an interesting question about fender tags. I have a 1970 Dodge Charger and a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring, both with all codes easily visible (the chargers' being in better shape:
My question is; why isn't the: axle or wheel code on my fender tags??! It doesn't appear on this...
The letters are just used for Post-year produced cars... Taking your 69, for example; if your car had been made in late 1968 (a 1969 waiting to be sold at the first day of 1969) it'd have a letter to signify the month. Cars that were produced on the assembly lines from the first day of January...
I know that car, saw the video when it first aired; I'm subscribed to the guy, his YouTube channel name is JunkerUp... I know, what a shame.. Seeing that charger like that brought tears on.. The bottom of the rear RH quarter was torn off just loading it onto the truck (the parking light is there...
Thanks for the words, and push of confidence! I'm by no means rich, and that's why my cars have sat this long.. But, at the same time... I'm not frustrated.. Low on money but lots of ambition, or something, I just know that they're going to come together. Somehow... Hahaha, Thumbs Up to You!
Oh, Wow!! That's pretty cool that Both your engines have the full vin numbers!! I'm hoping that the engines in my cars will as well! Sounds like you have some pretty Awesome cars!..
That's good, I'm glad that it has some of the vin there! That appears to tell the roof line of what car it belonged to, so at least I can find out what car that the swapped in engine originated from..
Yeah, that's a great piece of advice! I've definitely learned this lesson the hard way... It was special to me; a base Satellite Sebring with the original 383 in it... Spent 7 years thinking this to sudden find out that the engine has been gone for a long time, my feelings are hurt to say the...
Thanks for the help! I also have a 1970 Charger which was a factory 383 car, and when I went to look for the plate; it wasn't there! Going from what you just told me, of which engines have the stamping there; that explains why... Do you happen to know where its stamped on 383 engines?
Awesome!!! Your GTX must really be breathtaking!!! I've got a '70 GTX, lots of rust, though... I hope I can get it back to its former glory; like yours one day... Here's a picture of one in the same color as my car;
Hahaha, You're totally right!!! Don't know why it didn't occur to me, my '70 Charger was put together in October 1969, it works in that fashion for this too! I'm very thankful for you, Sir! Thumbs Up!!! Oh, Is that a GTX?
Yeah, like i had just replied to the other person; I would Love for this to be wrong.. For the car that it's in I mean. It's a 71 Plymouth, that I thought still had the original engine. I'm kind of Heartbroken to uncover this... I know there is absolutely no way, but I wish that it was somehow...
I have no idea, just found out about this today myself... I'm happy but disappointed at the same time... This code is on the engine in my 71 Satellite Sebring, which itself came with a 383. I've always thought that it had the original engine still in it, seeing as how this was a base type car...
Thank You for replying! You've all been a great help!! I didn't know what to think: It surprises me, for sure! But I'm still curious; what part of the code tell that it was a 68 block made for 1969?!
Here's my '70 Charger: Original 383, 4 Speed car: Originally EF8 green, unsure if it still has the original 383, as I haven't got to the casting numbers yet; but it does have a big block in it. 4 speed was replaced with an auto, somewhere along the line... Was drag raced and had slicks, which...
