Headed back to Wisconsin next week to install a Classic Auto Air system, and a RetroSound system into Dad’s 69 Charger. I’ve accumulated all the parts except the rear deck speakers. Anyone know the stock oem speaker size to fit in the factory holes? His car came with a single am radio speaker in...
Our dash is green, so this wouldn’t match. Was hoping for a quick solution but this sounds way more involved than I though to keep it “original” looking.
Oh, I’ll have to look at the car to see if I want to cut into the dash... thought it was just the center one, and two outer ones BELOW the dash. Problem is the car is in Wisconsin, and I’m in AZ, so I have nothing to reference. Was hoping a couple bolt-on dash pieces would keep it looking...
Could you post me a pic of your dash if you have one? I know the center vents under the radio would use this center pad... but what do the outer AC vents look like? Are they IN the dash, or UNDER the dash?
Really? :BangHead:
Year One has NON-AC pads for $200... is the AC version gonna be hell to find?
And before I hunt down an albino unicorn, will it even work with a non-ac dash?
We will be adding a Vintage AC system to the 69 Charger, and don’t want to just bolt vents under the dash. Car has a rally dash.
1) can you simply bolt an AC lower dash pad with AC vents in to the same dash frame, and plumb the hoses to it, or is the dash frame different behind the dash?
2)...
My God.... I just saw this thread for the first time today... I’m beyond amazed at the time and effort you have put into this project, and documenting it so well. I just spent the last hour bouncing through your build, anxious to see what the next page, and next year held! I can only assume...
Dumb question, but how much are we talking here? What’s the ballpark range of such a machine? $50,000, $100,000, $150,000? Maybe a home equity loan, or Heloc may be an idea for a down payment. Normally I’m not a big fan of tying a large venture to my home, but using that as a down payment may...
Did you call the actual machine manufacturer, or their local dealer to see if they offer financing or lease options for the machine? I’m a small business here in Arizona, and found you need to be really creative to get funding. Also, check your local SMALL banks, they are way more willing to...
Looks a lot like my dads!

That’s a great idea. Unfortunately it requires the installation of an amp to make it work, correct? I was looking at the RetroSound radio that looks stock, but has new internals with Bluetooth.
Dumb question, but the pic they show of the radio on RetroSounds website shows numbers on the radio face that emulate the stock am radio frequencies, but when your video plays, I see the blue digital numbers but not the white printed AM numbers. Are those not actually on the radio face or do...
