Tanks Inc said same thing. Liked my diagram LOL. Instead, he said cap the vent on the fuel pump housing, and just use the “tank vent”…. Run it up to my vapor canister and tee it into existing factory vent….:thumbsup:
Stock 68 charger vent is from the top of filler neck down thru the trunk floor, dumps into the frame wall.
I installed a homemade pvc charcoal filled cylinder inline of that vent hose. But that was for stock fuel tank, now an efi intank pump fuel tank
68 Charger…new Tanks Inc EFI tank and assembly. I have a returnless system. There is a vent nipple on the pump mounting plate, another vent nipple on top of tank itself. Tanks Inc says i can cap both the return nipple & vent nipple on the pump mounting plate, but run a hose to rollover...
I guess I’ll go with the “bulbous “ side up, outside the tank ….
Ive seen many web results about lubricating both the seal and the filler tube to help with installation?
I was thinking spraying both with silicone spray….i did see on a video, one guy filled the groove with grease?
Bought new fuel tank, and new fuel filler tube grommet. I purchased the “taller” version grommet…see pic.
Of course no instructions, so which end goes in the tank?
In my case, wish i could. The Charger frame is higher than the low point of the tank. I appreciate your input.
I’ve decided to go with an EFI tank, with built in fuel pump and sender. It is a MUCH better system than what i had.
Now its time to sell my existing fuel tank, pump, and sender to try...
