Thanks for the in 69bee. I have a hydraulic flat tappet, so the hughes rod will work.
And thanks for the rundown since i was hoping to build a 440 with rollers down the road.
I'm also curious as to how a bronze tipped push rod will last longer then a hardened one.
As for the oil, once again I'm using what my engine builder recommended. I did however use "driven" oil for my break-in. I'll find some more of the good stuff from now on.
Always learning on this forum.
Mackman, have you taken the pushrod out and checked for wear and length? I'd be curious to see wear and tear after 3500 miles.
I run rotella t4 with zinc additive. I'll order up a hardened push rod from hughes.
Thanks guys.
Is this a no-no? I had the engine built, so I never read any instructions or did any research on the installation of specific push rods for Howards cams.
Howdy folks,
Just had my first fuel pump pushrod wear out on me. It's oem from the 400 that is now a 451. Lost about .125" and it ruined my drive home.
I don't have a carter that a lot of folks on here seem to have issues with, but I have an edelbrock 12-440-11 pump. Is it possible to snip a...
I got all the pieces except the mounting bracket when i bought the car. I would love to get an original used piece, but right now can't justify the prices. I still might try and make one myself, but that may be a next winter task.
I'll take a look at the people you recommend though. Thanks guys.
Pretty sure my wtb post isn't a place to ask questions about your car rayhandloser.
And I'm looking for a used bracket, Rick. I have no interest in spending 100$usd for 15 cents in spamped steel.
Howdy,
Looking for the mounting bracket for a 1967 gtx flip gas cap. I'll attempt to fab one when i have time, but for now I'll keep an eye out for an original. I just missed one for sale on this site.
Thanks.
My 1967 satellite has a '73 b body rad with 4 tabs. Will my fan still fit centered with that shroud? Or do i need to get a '67 rad for everything to line up?
Thanks.
Has anybody ever seen these shock extensions? I got the s/s springs on there and was told to use these from the p.o. He says he's pretty sure they're direct connection parts. They have the DPCD stamp on them, but I feel like the plate would be a weak point unless I use a second plate to sandwich...
Howdy,
Looking for a fender badge for a 1967 gtx. Not worried about pitting or the perfect piece. Anything to fill the two holes in the sheet metal.
Thanks.
