I've been looking all over google to fing images of 1962 Cordovan, 1962 Rosewood. . I can find Rosewood/nutmeg. But very few Cordovan . What I was mainly trying to find were cars that were two toned with both colors......The ONLY images of that combo ,, are those of the 62 Fury 413 car in post...
The colors that keep sticking in my mind are Cordovan w/ Rosewood top...or Rosewood w/white top. Both of these combos were factory options. And both were sold with my interior color. The problem is , I've never seen these colors in person ( just seen them on computer monitor..hard to judge) ...
Since I'm kind of color blind, I've always thought the column was a Burgundy/purplish color.......The wife told me the column was a redish/brown. Her an I have had many many talks about colors....she knows we do not see them the same way ( she trys to understand).....maybe if I paint the car...
I think I just need the opinion of you guys, That the Cordovan would be OK. Sure wish I would have gotten to see that car at the 2022 Nats, but never could find it...as it drove away. The engine bay is getting painted in May thats for sure .....
You have no idea how many times I've looked at that car online. The lower color is Luminous Cordovan. As for the top it is Luminous Brown/ Rosewood. Both of those colors are metallic. As a note my steering column and gauge pod are Cordovan...just don't know if I want to look at it on the car. I...
I'm really bad about making color choices...bad enough I can't see them correctly, just always been tough to make these kind of decisions..Engine/trans, brakes.wheels etc. no problem...colors????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I have a hard time. I do over think things also...
I've been looking at coppers/bronze. was looking at 1969 T5 Bronze Firemist/ Copper. But think it's kind of a "too much in your face" type of color, but still thinking of it.
I need some insight on colors to choose. My 62 Fury wagon came as a "TT" paint code , boring Sandstone beige. I needs a complete paint job. My problme is that I'm working with a car that has a nice interior . And the color of the interior is Cocoa code 123. a tanish pearlize type color'. The...
Only reason I asked, is because TCP says that the name of the paints does not = factory colors/codes...But looking at yours, they look close enough to me. Thanks again
One more question. You said you did not paint the door jambs etc. But how well/ close did the Restoration shop paint match the factory Spannaker White ?
I've been checking into Restoratio Shop paint kits. This may be my answer. I don't think that a local paint supplier could come close to these prices, with free shipping also. Have you use much of the products ? BCCC ? Looks like they sell kit with 2 different clears (std-deluxe).
Since you've been doing this for a long time. I have some VERY old Dupont 615 Vari prime self etching primer, and 616 Vari prime converter (both never opened) . would this be OK to use on my engine bay? I did open the 615 and stirred it up in the can..mixed ok. I know almost nothing about...
I"d be screwed...Can't make up my mind on the choices I'm coming down too. At this point think it's going to be Luminious Brown with white roof...or all white. But getting closer on my colors.
