Like the plan by the way; if it all comes together
the cam you want is better match to the 906 ported heads.
Prolly end up with something like this or better:

Hey Kevin,
found your other thread with engine info.
10.5:1 on iron head seems high for that cam you want
dunno if you’ve confirmed compression, or just will do the .100 head gasket if needed
Here is what 440 source says about the existing cam in a stroker, the hydraulic roller lifter version
http://store.440source.com/Hydraulic-Roller-Retro-Fit-Camshafts/products/155/
Wouldn’t reducing the duration that much, increase cylinder pressure a lot, maybe cause pinging/knocking?
(Assuming it was built right for the 292 cam)
It would be good to really know what you are dealing with.
probably a good idea to confirm the stroke and engine displacement.
A bigger...
This meme is much better than that stupid tow battery meme charging a car that says the battery is a diesel generator
But it got me wondering how the fuel economy actually compares...
diesels are highly efficient... electric cars are extremely efficient
wouldn’t it be ironic if somebody...
Welcome from California!
Sweet ride!
Drove from Anchorage to here in 5 days with a friend from up there to bring a car down; will never forget it.
Just an awesome place and people
Welcome!
Hasn’t government has wanted non-emissions vehicles (like electric or equivalent) for highly populated areas for decades?
All the lost productivity and cost, from health problems from emissions right?
think musk took it on, and tried to make it cool; ie desirable.
He succeeded with that...
That last video has kind of a positive perspective on charging; this one talks about more of the issues.
he’s an engineer and likes solvable problems, so talks about them with optimism.
this is where things will get messy with electric cars (about 1/2 through the video):
Really like this guys you tube page; lots of interesting stuff
he’s a car nut; gas or electric, this one is on winter charging:
(most of his stuff is gas engines, but has some electric car stuff)
actually I’m kinda interested in that; for the electric pick-ups
tow a camper trailer with PV on top 3 deep
2 pop out on either side for shade
Stay out as long as you want...
so like 24 ft x 20 ft array
Not a fan of musk; too much hype, spin, and bs.
Really glad to see this sort of thing.
Test drove a electric car in 2014; it was great.
Ask what it would cost to replace the battery after the warranty; sales guy was no help, so went and talked to the mechanics.
They had just saw warranty...
Way to be badass and jump right in to get that replaced
Sounds like you might benefit from these or something like them
I had couple sets and loved them; wore out both over a decade, held up fairly well; could have more durable though
You can comfortably listen to music or whatever you’re...
Yeah it wasn’t meant to be a dig on 318s, the big blocks have/had it too; didn’t know/remember SBC also had it
not nearly as bad as a timing belt on an interference engine, there are tons of those...
Just can bite you in the *** if it’s not on the radar
this 383 has 200k on the original nylon...
Speaking of that, there is one very weak link if that engine has never been opened up.
if it has the original timing gears/chain, the cam gear is coated in nylon.
do not push that engine if it could still have that
if the timing set has been replaced then it doesn’t and it’s not a concern...
I guess if that’s being done, depending on the lift, stock 1.5 rockers could be used also to reduce loads (if the build has 1.6) with an old set
very cool/good info, thanks again!
I dunno if he was sold used lifter 3 times in a row or not... yeah that sounds unlikely
but if he was being truthful about the first one he checked they had was bad, that is something, buts it’s hard to say anything with out a percentage stated
He did admit about just “popping them out of the...
Hey I’m sorry I wasn’t more specific; totally on me...
the disassembly and re-lubing makes all kinds of sense
What I was unclear was the marking and rotating, and if this was done before the pushrods go bad in like it seems:
(thanks again and for the response and sharing this great tip/advice)
