I'm a little late to this topic, but here's a pic of the AC distribution housing on my 66 Satellite. Not sure if its the same for a 67. Pretty sure this is what snakeoil24 mentioned in post #4. There is also a plastic tube that connects the passenger side AC hose to this distribution housing.
I realize this is an older thread. But I just fixed this issue - or a similar one a few months ago. (I've been away for while) My e-brake pedal wasn't ratcheting or staying in place. Turns out the spring that applies tension to the ratcheting mechanism was missing. It's impossible to see this...
I picked up this '66 Satty last October. Original (rebuilt) 361 and 727, new Legendary interior, newer repaint in the original color. I'm considering putting some Magnums or Cragar SS on it.
First off, I realize this thread is a bit dated. But I have some older first-hand info that may be of interest. In 1972, as a 19-year-old, I purchased a 1966 Satellite from the local used car dealer in Essex, Maryland. The car was immaculate - silver with red interior, 318, automatic. When...
I need a single headlight trim ring that fits a 66 Satellite. The pic is the broken one I want to replace. Doesn't need to be show quality, but it should be unpainted and functional with all three mounting tabs. Prefer to pay via Paypal.
TIA,
Fred
I was in Werthiem, Germany while in the Army, January 1977-August 1979. Travelled quite a bit while on duty, but did not take full advantage of the off-duty opportunities while I was there.
Do you still have the AC installed. If so, would you care to post some pics of it. My 66 Satty is an AC car, but the under-hood AC parts were in a box. I'd like to get it re-installed. TIA!
Hi Don,
It's a locking gas cap the previous owner recenting put on there. Not sure of the make or source. The interior is a fairly recent Legendary package. I just need a recovered driver side front armrest pad.
I love Satellites. This is my second 66. The first I bought at age 19 (1972)...
Thanks Bob. If I can trust the fender tag decoders on the web the factory color code is 28D .The tag has PAINT "WD1 D", a 2-tone car with white top. A previous owner painted it all with what I believe is the factory color. See the label below.
