At a loss with my Drivetrain Vibration

The 62-65 B bodies often or always had the engine mounted with the trans off center. The trunion universal is a constant velocity joint and compensates for this. When you convert it to a slip joint you will get a driveshaft vibration you will not be able to find. I got this from Herb...

    1965 coronet drive shaft question

If you convert to a slip yoke front universal, you may got a slight annoying mystery vibration. Happened to a friend of mine and he finally sold the car. I got this straight from Herb McCandless. I am not nuts- he said some '62-65 cars had the engine installed crooked with the rear to the...

Front/Rear subframe connectors. Best that DON'T require welding to floorpans? I'm WELDING mine in!!

Has anybody put frame connectors on a '64 Dodge? I want them for my '64 Polara 500. They are all listed for '66 and up. For what it's worth, we put the mopar bolt in ones on my brothers Roadrunner and they made a huge improvement in the cars rigidity. That was 20 years ago with 4.56's and DOT...

    8.75 rear end with 440 4 speed?

For what it's worth, there was a 440 car around here with an 8 3/4 and a 4 spd, and it was on the build sheet that way.

    clutch not releasing when hot

HA! It looks like the rod from the pedal is bent and flexes when I step on the clutch. Took putting somebody in the car to work the clutch while somebody else watched. I think that it has been bending slowly, making the free play grow. My parts book definitely shows it being straight...

    New 440 build oil pressure

I have a book on '63 Ramcharger wedges. It has reprints of the service bulletins, one of which states that it's ok if the oil light comes on at idle (!) if it goes out in neutral or higher. Those things had a 50K warranty, believe it or not, so I guess you don't need to worry about it.

    clutch not releasing when hot

I have a Mcleod twin disc clutch in my '64 Polara 500. Everything is new, but I've adjusted the clutch three times already, each time after a fairly long highway trip. Last time I went about 25 miles, and could hardly get it in reverse because the clutch would not release. I just checked it...
