I had the same thing...the timing was jumping all around. I had my original Mopar distributor rebuilt by a member here. I touched nothing else. It solved it 100%.
Good Day All,
Looking to put a lift in my garage. I have 14 foot ceilings. 110 or 220 V power is available.
The purpose is mostly to get the car up out of the way for winter to store items underneath....but also to eventually do some work on the car.

Good Day all,
I have perfect outside condition 68 charger/barracuda gas cap that is missing the spring loaded plunger piece.
Is is possible to remove just the "spring loaded plunger seal" seal section from a poor condition cap and place it on another gas cap that is in great show condition...
My 68 8 3/4 sure grip 741 case used to wine like that...but only in a 10-15 mile per hour band around 50mph, and only with power applied. Let off the gas and it would quiet right up. Took out the gears, new clutches, set it all up...no change. The next season I dismantled it all again but put...

I just looked at old pics and examples of original VR’s with factory date codes and markings….used a calliper to measure font height, length, style….them just went to the stamp shop….in less than 5 mins they had it all ordered up. It was just a local mom/pop print shop.
I did the same as Turbine…..found an original old cover, blasted, repainted, put it over the new insides. Then I had stamps made. Was less than $20 for the custom stamps.
I think I got the idea from him!
741, 3.23 suregrip. My gears were noisy. I reset everything and changed the clutches. No change. Finally decided to remove the front and rear bearings...reinstalled...the noise was gone.
