Thanks for the feedback. I'll let her know that they aren't very desirable. Her husband passed away and she is just trying to get rid of the last few things.
I went to buy some tools from a person today and they had a few Mopar parts laying there. A nice clean set of 452 heads supposedly removed from a lower mile 440 police car, rocker shafts, rockers, and valve covers. I told this elderly person that I would see if anyone here on the forum was...
I feel bad about this whole thing. Finally found the time to change the switch. It went well. Thought the Shee-Mar was fine at first. Discovered the weird rear lights flash position. Shee-Mar was great on the phone but that didn't fix my switch. Tried Dan. He is out. Hard to find OEM...
Well my shee-mar switch seems to be going downhill. The brake lights are fine. Turn signals are fine when activated all the way one side or the other. The problem is a fairly wide band in the middle where I get the flashing rear lights. Was rare at first but now happens even after a normal...
Like I posted above Shee-Mar knows that there are issues with the switch. It sounds like there is very little room for error in the alignment of the contacts. I was happy that the switch completely solved my wonky brake lights and now about 95% of the time the signals work fine. The only...
Sorry to hear that. That looks exactly like the Shee-Mar switch. I was surprised to hear that the Shee-Mar is made in the USA. It may not matter much but did you trim the plastic so that it would fit around those castle nuts inside the column? And there was a metal plate that went on before...
I talked to Seth in Tech help at Shee-Mar. He explained that it's an old design that they continue to make in the US to help out the old car hobby. The spacing of the contacts and the operation of the switch can lead to the issue I described above and they know about it. I appreciated the...
The turn signal switch saga continues. I went to a small local car show today and I was showing a guy the accidental flashing rear lights and after that had NO turn signals. My first thought was the switch gave up after two days. Swapped in a new FLASHER and have signals again. Evidently...
A couple hours. That includes repairing the threads in the holes where the wheel puller bolts go. I don't think the wheel has ever been off but someone buggered the threads trying. Make sure you set up a fish string as you remove the old wires. Also make a sketch and take pictures of the...
No this 64 does not have 4 ways. It's a weird glitchy spot int he new switch. I was just wondering if other people had seen the same thing. I can work around it - the brake lights are fine now. The turn signals work and cancel. I just have to make sure the switch doesn't land in the spot...
Well CRAP. It's not an easy install and now there seems to be a problem with the switch.
Brake lights work 100%
Turn signal lever locks into place and signals work both sides no problem.
System cancels just fine both sides.
BUT
I was playing around to see if there was a lane change position...
Installed a new turn signal switch in the 64 Sport Fury today. Used the Rock Auto Shee-Mar SM102 switch.
Not a horrible job but:
Someone else had damaged the threads where the puller bolts go so cleaning those up added some time.
As others have said fishing the wires for the new switch back...
ORIGINAL visors from black interior 1964 Sport Fury.
1) the binding on the lower edge is perfect but needs to be stiched back secure by hand
2) ONE of the plastic dowels that snaps into the mirror housing is gone
3) a piece of black tape covers a small tear
4) the METAL rod that does all the...
Google VS7-F to see what they are. New still in plastic. We bought these a couple years ago thinking we needed them for the 64 and we do not. They are 40-50 bucks online. Free but you pay shipping. Will meet you in the Pinckney/Gregory/Stockbridge MI area to hand them over.
It's a 7.5" around 2.41 ratio. I asked about 350/400/455 just to see if anything was out there. The pontiac blocks and heads will fit best with the current A/C, cooling, and engine mounts. I know it won't be an original configuration - I'll set the 301 in a corner for that. It's an ultra...
