It wasn’t brewers, I’m not too worried about the matched combo, it was a 383 23 spline charger from the factory. It’s still a manual and I think that’s the real win
Ok,
I have a 1966 Charger,
It has a 71 440, and had a 71 4 speed
I sold the 4 speed thinking a company i paid for a replacement Transmission would ... like actually deliver on the purchase. So anyways I sold the trans before i got the new and now have none. Now im looking to get my car back...
Ya, It would be cheaper and more reliable getting a QT housing, EZ-TCU and a 4l80e.
Personally I would NEVER put a 4l60/4l65 in a car. I have seen 4l60s break way to often and catastrophically even under just 400hp. I just see no point in putting a trans in a car that might break from hard...
im in Waldorf. I’m pretty open to just putting a 727 in. A buddy has a good one. Wasn’t sure how much a pain it would be.
I mean an m21 are easily had but I haven’t really seen much on using one
So,
This is an odd predicament. I purchased a transmission to replace my a833 18 spline
Builder promised quick delivery and after weeks of run around I eventually got a refund.
however in the interim of having paid for a new built manual I sold the old a833.
Currently I have no manual...
no problem, I bought it as I didn’t want to cut the car. It has taken a little longer to get my hands on. During that time someone made an offer I accepted for the car and they want a t56 and don’t care about cutting the car. Honestly I didn’t want to try to get a refund during this economic...
I really have no idea how I didn’t find this. I’ve never had an issue before pushing one out but normally they are offset. I sincerely appreciate this!
So I did read the sticky
I also searched the forums. However I had a few issues. So the rope seal on my 440 is something else.
both ends were matched flush with the block so I have nothing to pull on. I tried pushing it out with a small 1/4 extension as it was flat as opposed to a screw...
Looks similar to a kit I used. With that said my cables were feet to long so I used the oem ones. It should hook into the brake caliper lever and I don’t use a bracket on the diff there is a u shaped part mine go to and connect to the forward lead.
The u shaped part I bent to allow the cables...
It’s mine, it’s a factory 383 4 speed 1966 charger. However I’m starting to question that. I mean the vin has it a 383 car but I’m unsure if it was a 4 speed as I pulled the trans today and idk if this is oem manual hump but it looks like somebody swapped the car.
I attached a pic of the...
so the bearing is towards the end, the plate that all the brakes bolt to replaced the drum brake plate. I just slid the axle out looked at it. Installed the new plate almost exactly the same size as the drum plate that was there and slide the axle back in.
was probably the easiest part of the...
Your totally fine I posted up about how bad the kit it is. You are right the plate is very thin.... the plate that everything bolts to. I justified it as the front is the majority of the stopping power.
he rebuilt his rear, and a bunch of other stuff but the plate that goes between the axle...
