I remember having the same issue with the bracket, not correctly located at all. It wasn't too difficult to get it off and solder it back at the correct location and angle. I am not sure but I might also have heated the tubes and slightly bent them.
Works fine now.
Keep tapping (lightly) around the reservoir, it'll come off eventually.
Some movement of the pulley should be normal.
If the O-ring of the reservoir needs replacing, chances are that it's a good idea to also replace all seals inside the pump body. At least my experience.
No. It's the blower motor, will come out once you pull the heter box inside. 3 nuts circling the motor need to come off and probably a fourth one. Also, of course disconnect the hoses
In any case not from that side... The motor comes out along with the complete heater box.
Just did that job on my 71.4 nuts on engine side of firewall, one rod inside on top left of box, and all the control cables need to come off, then you take out the box.
I found it quite nerve-wrecking, but then it was first time for me, suppose it gets easier with time...
