Started at 8 and we used to smoke x3 cigarettes a day at school. That became a packet a day until I was 30 when my daughter was born and I quit. I always smoked Marlboro reds. I haven't smoked for 14 years and no plan to!
I use a Tuff lift Hoist in Australia, it's probably rebranded. I've had it for 8 years now and it's operation has been flawless. When I built the shed I put 3' x 3' pads and 1' deep with double mesh under the hoist feet.
I was in the same boat 4 years ago. I was pulling the clusters every other month. I fix one gauge and another starts playing up. After pulling the cluster for the 10th time, I bought the Dakota Digital cluster and it was the best decision ever.
I bought new ones which didn't fit. I modified them with the dremel and took some meat out of the middle to capture the cusp. They have been good ever since
Harley WLA 1942
Bought as a project. Infinite amount of hiccups. Mostly finished 2 months ago. Put 3000 miles on it already. Best motorcycle I've ever had.
Indian Big Chief 1926-28 will be my next bike.

Headers are off. The threads look good to me with no cracks. I added a few pics, maybe someone can spot something I'm missing?
At this stage I suspect the culprit is the second bolt from the front. Longer Bolts on the way.
The thread sealant I used was for a high temp application
Loctite 592 High Temperature Thread Sealant 50mL
The studs I have look short to me, 3/8" long. I have longer bolts and I'll try that first and if that fails, the headers are coming off.
Many thanks for all your replies.
I'll clean the threads really well and try longer bolts. That failing, I'll dig deeper.
Aluminium heads sounds very appetising too.
