I’ve got the same problem. I have two friends that have the clearance fit the clutch fan in. It turns out that their motors sit about 3/8” to 5/8” farther back in the chassis. My car is a 64 Belvedere and the other two cars are a 64 Fury and a 65 Coronet.

I’d tap the case for a 3/8-16 and put a set screw with an orifice drilled in it. That way you could easily change it by replacing it with another drilled set screw.

What I find interesting is that the pocket guide lists the canopy vinyl top as NA on the GTX. I had an original 71 GTX with the canopy vinyl top.

Leather was not available on a 71 Road Runner or a GTX.
