Oil pan recommendations for street/strip 70 b body

I found out that my other 440 had a Milodon 30761 pan, so I installed that one instead. Problems solved.

    Skid Plate

How deep is that pan, and do you have internal pickup? Do you have a part number for it? I will have to modify or replace the old Moroso-pan. Centerlink hits the pan at full turn, and the pan hangs very low. Just rebuilt and installed this engine...I have two 440's for my RR and the other one...

Oil pan recommendations for street/strip 70 b body

Wish i had this version of the Moroso pan. My pan is an old version, without the notch. I just installed the other 440 for my 1970 RR, and learned that center link is hitting pan at full turn. Will have to modify the pan or get a new one.

What Type Trans Fluid in my 727

Unlike many modern automatics, TF-727 can live well on a variety of ATF fluids. But fully synthetic will withstand heat better than mineral based fluid. I use ATF+4 compatible fluid in my Durango with 45RFE-transmission, and semi synthetic ATF in my road runner with 727. You can mix different...

440 stroker block Cam bearing damage

I have seen worse "scratches" on cam bearings, that didn't cause any issues.

    Hunting rifle

Nice .444 Marlin :-) Here in Norway, hunting and shooting sports have very long traditions, and are still popular. As many as 10 percent of the population are registered hunters. But for hunting, we can't use our handguns, we have to use rifles or shotguns. We are lucky to have a large...

    727 transmission

I also just rebuilt my first trans(727)...and it worked (!) when re-attached to the 440. The Chrysler engineers did a great job when designing the Torqueflite. I upgraded mine a little with Alto Red Eagle clutches, Cope auto valve-body and billet rear servo. In hindsight maybe I should have...

    Rant: I hate chrysler

Funny to read about your Mopar “maintenance nightmare” and “not great design from a maintenance point of view” … I’ve had different car brands over the years, both old and modern, American and European. I do the wrenching myself. One year ago, I bought my first Mopar (1970 B-body) and have...

Zeeker heads - dropped valve seat

The Zeeker head has been welded and repaired. I disassembled the engine and inspected everything. Number 5 piston and rod didn’t have damage, beside valve seat-mark, witch I filed and smoothed out. Bearings didn’t have much wear, but I replaced rod and crank bearings anyway. I deglazed...
