"78" D100, 2WD with a 318, I called it "Booger" because it was pretty rough looking, not falling apart though (old military vehicle)...but Booger never let me down, even in the coldest Alaska winters.
I took a friends Kawasaki GPZ-1100 up to 141 mph (according to the speedo), when the thought of a front tire blowout went through my mind. Right back down to 60 mph, and never ventured past 75-80 on two wheels again. I'll be plenty happy if my coronet breaks 110-115 in the 1/4 mile.
I would imagine they are only working inside a -.000/+.005 tolerance window, they still need to go through the OD grind process, gotta leave a little meat on the bone?
I figured out how to connect the 65" TV to the home wifi (I'm not an IT kinda guy), now I have a wireless mouse and keyboard on the coffee table!
Congrats! When it's right, it works no matter what. My wife and I were told the same thing back in 1979. It will be 46 for us this coming Dec.
For sure, only want to cut once! Putting reference marks in key locations for alignment purposes, as I build the template. I don't have a bead roller, if I have any really floppy areas I was thinking I'd tack weld some 1/2" angle material on the back side to add stiffness?
I'm thinking rivnuts (5 or 6) across the top (forward facing) edge to tie the divider and package tray together (will break the edge of the tray over to cover the top 1" of the divider piece) and allow for removal if needed. And bless you for liking this type of work! I don't mind fabricating...
Don't see any counter weight on the TC, so it's for an internally balanced engine. Make sure your motor is internally balanced. I think the 71 time frame was when things started to go from internal to external balance on the motors.
