Another simple test you can do is after its running spray choke cleaner or equivlant around intake at heads to see if idle will pick up . This will show if intake is leaking , and I really think it is .
Doug , this is the first car I have seen video of that raced with the original push button shifter . I started out using them in my 63 but the buttons started coming off at lanch , was getting time consuming putting them back on between rounds , lol .
