Biomedtechguy 572 Bill Mitchell aluminum RB block build thread and other stuff...

There is a thread on Moparts racer forum about weight removal. It is an unbelievable 140 plus pages long! Things that fit in your vision/plan should be in there. For starters having an aluminum block is huge. A light battery is also great. I just acquired a 60 ah Dakota lithium battery for my...

If you have the option, moving the rear axle forward is VERY helpful. Anything you can do is a help. For asthetics , i limited the move forward on my drag car to 6 inch. That and 17 inch engine setback equaled tail draging wheelstands at 700 hp. At 880 hp, uncontrolable.

This will be a bombshell of a ride! May i suggest focusing on doing anything possible to shift weight rearward in your car, or lightening the front. With the torque you will have on tap you will need every bit of rear bias you can put in the car. Also sticky, bias "street" slicks like Mickeys

Doug, my lower balljoint/tierod hole on my dart elongated and allowed a severe wheel woble due to the slop. It was caused in part by a bad shock, and i couldn't feel it till it got real bad when braking hard. So i will be checking them closely annually. The setup you have may be prone to that...

I know the feeling about getting old. At 72 it takes me forever to assemble a motor. Multiple checks to make sure everything goes together right.

With your heads cut quite a bit, valve notchs start to get pretty deep. I have heard it helps to lay the intake back a bit to help flow during overlap. I have never done it, just read it in one of David Vizzards books. It would be nice to have solid info on it for our combo's. I can see though...

    Mopar 440 Cams

I have run MP, Isky,Comp,Ultradyne,Mike Jones. Most of my builds have been hi hp, 700 to 926 hp. For a well behaved, great midrange power i ran an Isky rr735 with a 1.55 rocker. It made 847 hp with 528 cubes, Indy ported 440-1 heads. King of the hill for power so far is an Inverse flank roller...

440 How would you build for 700hp

Consider this. Offset grind a stock forged 440 crank to 4.0 stroke using 2.100 sbc bearings, custom aluminum rods from BME. Chose pistons with a 1.24 compression hieght, 4.350 bore and . 043 top and 2nd rings. Order the BME 396 forging rods in 7.46 length, .990pins, 2.100 bearing size. You now...

440 How would you build for 700hp

Whats wrong with efi and a couple of small hairdryers? Easier on the block, much more docile motor. If not that then a newer design blower. More efficient. Great torque at low rpm. It would feel like driving a 700 inch motor with a mild cam! After having two 3.5 echoboost trucks, and a blown 4.6...

    Bore limit?

One option is if you plan to run the same compression and cam, you can have pistons coated to up to . 020 oversize, but make sure you can get rings that can be file fit. Line2Line coatings wear in to the proper size during a breakin cycle of repeated increases in load and rpm. This process can...

    modern max wedge powerhouse

A bracket racers dream! Put that motor in a 68 to 70 b body, full dress, run 10.00s in a light racers jacket, big, comfortable, easy on the wallet once you own the motor, since shifts need not exceed 6200!

Doug, if you get a chance, could you measure the thickness of your heads, measuring the lower head bolt area? Mine are .868 to .862 from where the bolt seats to deck surface. By the large water port at the end of the head, there is only about .250 thickness on mine.
