Gasoline. Do you price shop or just buy where it is close?

I had a reason for that non-sensible move many years ago. Around 1991 I lived in the So-Cal desert Antelope Valley. My wife was driving her 70 Chrysler 300 2dr, one afternoon she came home complaining that her car kept dying every time she stopped. So I took it for a short drive and it was...

    Re-Rebuilding the 440-493 in a 1970 Charger

OK cool, it looks like the zero deck height plus 82 cc heads makes up the discrepency. Thank you

    Re-Rebuilding the 440-493 in a 1970 Charger

Going way back to quoting post #39. I am compiling parts for an upcoming build very similar to yours and I have looked at the piston chart on 440 source and it shows 9.28 c.r. with the 493 and 84 cc heads and the .039 gasket. am I missing something, maybe you have smaller cc heads and I...

Fender tag, VIN and build sheet match. Body stamps do not

Either way, I'm feeling like ultimately it's not the best scenario, but I will proceed with the build as planned. Again thanks to all who responded.

Fender tag, VIN and build sheet match. Body stamps do not

Thank you to all that have responded. I'm paranoid about putting the VIN# out there. The difference in numbers is only the last three sequence numbers, Title,VIN, build sheet, fender tag all have ***828 the body has ***298. another thing is the fender tag (underside of tag also with the correct...

Fender tag, VIN and build sheet match. Body stamps do not

The engine and trans went away at the time I bought the car. So I never looked at the numbers. Plan to use a 440 anyway so it wasn't important at the time. As for the body being put together from two, no. This car is completely apart and stripped to bare metal. No piecing together, this car came...

Fender tag, VIN and build sheet match. Body stamps do not

I've got a 69 Charger that I've had a few years. Came from a trusted friend I've known for 35+ years. I noticed recently the body stampings on the trunk rail and the radiator support match each other, but not the VIN, fender tag and build sheet. What gives? I checked the Title against VIN# when...

    Porting hp 440 manifolds

Can you use any cast exhaust manifold? If yes, and you have the wallet, then the Max Wedge manifolds flow almost as good as headers. Look up Nick's Garage on youtube he has done a comparison between HP manifolds, Max Wedge manifolds and 1 7/8 headers on his dyno.

Should I use this Keisler/Tremec trans

Well the PO installed frame connectors 17+ years ago, so they are not the contoured style you mention. But they are there and all welded in so they will stay. As for the cross member I will have to see it again to make a decision on that later on. Thanks for the info. Pat

Tremec 5 speed conversion in a 1970 Charger

As you suggested to me in another thread, I read through this completely. Wow what a great job on detailing the conversion. I am going to go forward with mine in due time as it's not quite on the front burner yet, but thanks for pointing toward this thread. Pat

Should I use this Keisler/Tremec trans

Got a message in to Liberty, thanks for the tip. Loved their pro-shifted gears 40 years ago in my A833 4 speed 10 second drag car. Yoke issue noted, thanks.

Should I use this Keisler/Tremec trans

I have a cross member also, just have to dig it out and compare to yours. The trans looks the same to me, so was mine designed for the b body swap?

Got it, and fortunately the PO saved all the paperwork. Thanks.

Should I use this Keisler/Tremec trans

Thank for the input everyone. So it sounds like I should bolt the setup together and mock it up to determine if driveshaft angle is a problem and any other clearance issues. I'm not terribly concerned about high rpm shifts as I don't expect to be running down the drag strip with it. just want...
