Very cool bird, if you’re gonna keep it in its current condition I’d highly suggest submitting the car for the muscle car and Corvette nationals show in November for their barn finds and hidden gems display. being the lowest vin Superbird it would be a great addition. Would love to see the car there
Do you have a fender tag? Would love to see it. I’ve seen the other 2 black and red cars in person. The other 4 speed doesn’t get out much, last show it was at was the aero reunion in 2019. The automatics first show was last weekend at MCACN. I know of 10 black Daytonas. 3 hemi and 7 440.
Looks like only 3 were made in that color combo. Auto or 4 speed? There’s a 4 speed one owned by a man in Missouri, used to be a racecar in Canada. An automatic one was just unveiled at MCACN last weekend.
This IS a real Daytona. The AC was added by the dealer, I know this car very well and two of my friends have owned it in the past. The full vin is XX29L9B383270. It’s a known Daytona. Yes one of the previous owners made some modifications to it like A/C, the 68 side markers, and some other stuff.
Here’s a comparison on our 68 Coronet, the drivers fender is the original, the passenger is a replacement. The car is a lynch road built car, and the replacement fender was off a St Louis car, so my theory is that different plants had different locations for the holes, just a theory though. And...
