My 1965 Coronet with 48k original miles takes some cranking time to start after sitting for a few days. If I use starting fluid, one crank and it starts. I just replaced the fuel pump (was leaking fuel into my crankcase), replaced the fuel filter and the battery is always on a trickle charge. If...
My 48k original 1965 Coronet, 361 2bbl developed some unexplainable nagging issues over the years: 1- very hard to start after any rest even just overnight; 2- reeked of gasoline when back in the garage after a spin (new gas cap and zero leaks anywhere); 3- My dip stick always seems to read...
Thank you so much for your feedback! Really appreciated! The striker and latch do line up and I have zero play on the hinges so I am going to CAREFULLY remove the door card (any advice would be welcomed with that!) for inspection. Do you have the contact info for that Canadian?
All of a sudden, the passenger door on my 48k all original Coronet 500 convertible will not fully shut. I can push it fully closed but as soon as I let go, it opens an inch. There is zero play in the hinges and I have greased the door latch and tried to adjust the body latch receiver (which was...
I am looking for the hose that goes from the reservoir to the washer motor. Auto parts chains don't stock that type of hose and it seems that I have to purchase the entire assembly online. Does anyone have a source or the actual the hose diameter? Thank you!
Thank you. The reason I posted is my driver's side rear drum heats up to 170 degrees compared to 70-80 on the passenger side after a 30 minute drive. I had the wheel/braking assembly and bearing checked with 2 different mechanics and they found nothing.
My 1965 Coronet has been converted from power brakes to manual with a dual reservoir MC. The car still has drum brakes front and rear. There is no proportioning valve installed. Should I have one?
Hope you had a great holiday. Diff fluid full. Check out the pictures I took today after a 20 minute ride. Thinking axle bearing even though there is zero noise or axle play. Any thought would be appreciated. Thank you!
It's funny you say that because last night while laying in bed that popped into my mind! (Pathetic, right? lol). I'll check that after the holidays. Thanks again!
Driver is the wheel that gets so hot after a 30 minute drive that I can't even touch the drum (even though no smoke and no noise). The 3 other wheels are only warm at best. Both drums were cut and look smooth and have meat left on them. Thanks!
