Misunderstood Mopar tech 400, Thermoquad etc.

Yup.. my mistake, I put stroke instead of rod. I fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out for me.

Misunderstood Mopar tech 400, Thermoquad etc.

Yes it was..SBC 400 came with a bigger bore but shorter rod than the 350. Like a Mopar 400, it had the biggest bore of that engine family (4.125 vs 4.0 for a 350).. the only reason GM kept calling the BB 402 a 396 in 70 was for marketing reasons because it was so popular, but they did...

**1970 Dodge Charger STUDENT build!!! matching numbers! (teacher posting)**

Friend of mine ran a HS auto shop and did exacty same thing, taught students how to tear cars down to show them the different aspects of it, and then rebuild them to sell to finance the car for next year. And if car was too far gone like the 67 Coronet he had, he'd part it out. I got quite a...

Misunderstood Mopar tech 400, Thermoquad etc.

Yes, overheating was an issue, and if you put the wrong head or head gasket on it without the "weep holes", the motor was doomed. and while you could put a 400 head on any other small block, and you couldn't take a set of 2.02 fuelies and put them on a 400. and while the siamesed cylinders did...

    Driving On Your Lift

I had to help my friend get his Challenger on the lift and it didn't run (he's in mid 70's). Even with a hand cable winch it was a royal PITA

    70 Satellite LS Swap

You assumed that I cut the car to make it fit... I never said I did.. And no difference between cutting the firewall to make it fit or , cutting fenderwells for headers or the trunk for bigger tires, car is still cut to make it fit something it never came with.. Have some more dinner, seems...

    70 Satellite LS Swap

You said it wouldn't fit... yet it did... and waste of good engine yet ran low 10's on pump gas, sounds to me like a good one.. Even doing same make drivetrain swaps can require some cutting, I know putting a 4spd in my car required a nice chunk of the floor removed.. Hope dinner was tasty..

    70 Satellite LS Swap

Street driven for 15yrs, low 10's on pump gas, the 440 was to see how a Hemi would fit and found had too much fun with this setup. Said fenderwell clearance was more than a B-body. When you eat crow, how do you like it, well done or medium rare?

    70 Satellite LS Swap

It is pure sacrilege when you desecrate a classic like a 55 Chevy and put another brand motor in it..
