I had similar issues on my 67 B. It stemmed from bad bulk head wiring. Was causing me to lose coils and distributors. The coils would get really hot and stop working, let it sit an hour then perfect.

I bought the summit brand deadener. It lays down pretty good.

I ordered an engine harness from classic last year. It was an Evans wiring harness. Good stuff.

That’s the bypass the firewall plug trick, my 67 Plymouth had it also. I got a new wiring harness from classic.
