Nice. Any rubbing anywhere? Were you able to run them at a normal tire pressure, or did you have to reduce it to below 26 lbs like some have been saying on here? What gears do you have? I am looking to switch over to 3.91s in spring.

Hi,
Not looking to start a huge discussion, just looking for some verifications that are specific to a 1968 Coronet R/T.
I currently have 245/60R15 on 7” Magnum 500 wheels on my ride which work well. I am looking to swap out the rear wheels with 275/60R15, 4.5” back space. Note: running 3.91...
Looking to buy a 742 case with Sure-Grip 3.91 gears. Preferably in the Midwest, but would willing to go farther for the right unit. Please PM if you have something in good shape you would be willing to part with.
I am thinking you are correct, haha. I intend on putting the 3.91s in and that is probably where it will stay. We were thinking of doing a 2500 stall behind the mildly built 440. For convenience though it would be nice to have a direct swap out.
I am thinking they will be find around town, rarely go over 45 mph. As well, with the taller tires, that should make it more tolerable. The close runner up was 3.55s
Thanks for the suggestion. I am looking to be able to swap my 3.21 back in if I want to go on a cruise at some point. Having a second member gives me the most versatility.
Hi all,
I have a 68' Coronet RT with a 3-speed auto. I am looking at upgrading my 3.21 sure grip to a 3.91 ratio. I have been looking on line to find a third member, but there really is not a lot out there. I am thinking about just going new, so that I know what I have. I am looking for a...
Hmm, first choice was a 68’Charger but they are hard to find and ridiculous in price. 68’Coronet is a very close second in my book, but yes, I really like the clean coke bottle look of the Coronet. I am perfectly happy with this Coronet R/T!
PNORA shared a link where I was able to order some. They look similar to the ones that I found online, just way cheaper. I hope they are good quality. They should be on the way.
Yes, it seems that someone put a lot of effort into it. The bodywork is smooth as can be and appears mostly original panels with the exception of the center trunk pan.
