Detmatt1,
Nope no plans for the proving grounds. Yep, my brackets look about the same. I am going to check with the local fab shop to see if they can cut the end off 2 of the brackets and fab & weld a new piece on. if not, I will send you a PM.
Well, my existing brackets rusted where all 3 brackets meet together (Overlap) Pitted pretty bad to the point where I have a few holes in one bracket. The rest of the bracket looks really nice. I am assuming that this is a common issue with all the crud building up between the brackets. Could...
Looking for a good set of fender to bumper impact pads and a passenger side fender to bumper bracket. For a 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner, Satellite or GTX. The bracket uses the same bolt hole as the impact pad.
Thanks,
GTX 440
Does anyone have a good source for re-chroming bumpers? I have a 1971 GTX and I am looking to have the front bumper done. I checked Google and found a place in Tennessee. When I contacted them, they quoted me $900.00 for the front bumper. Doesn't make sense, when I can buy a new one from Year...
Looks like both sides rusted out just behind the K frame (where the rail bends downward). Someone tried to weld patches over them (and did a very poor job I might add).
Yes, I do have some clean donor parts to replace them with. I have never replaced a front rail before so I figured I would ask...
I need to replace the front frame rails on my 71 B body. I would be doing them one at a time. But my question is, Can I do it with the engine and transmission still in the car?
(Just support and unbolt the K Frame, when I get all the spot welds drilled out). I can remove in in chunks. But...
I need to consult the experts. I always come here first with my newbie questions.
I need to replace both front Frame Rails on my 1971 Plymouth GTX. But, I do not see any replacement rails listed for my application. In combing through various postings, some people have said that the replacement...
Thanks for your responses. Yes, I am going to keep the Power Disc Brakes. I bought the new plate along with the linkage from Roseville Moparts. A little on the costly side but, I know that I have the correct parts and gets rid of the past cobbled up mess.
The booster is out for a re-plate and...
I recently removed the Brake Power Booster Unit from my 1971 Plymouth GTX. (Original Power Disc Brake Car) The unit was very difficult to remove from the firewall holes (Like the bolt pattern was incorrect) Behind it, I found this Firewall Reinforcement Plate. Somewhere in the cars life, someone...
I guess I should have explained a bit further on the items that I checked. There is no voltage present at this connection with the ignition key on and operating the lights or any of the accessories (Fan, turn signals etc.) Shows continuity to ground when tested with my meter, between the...
