Curious, what designates A 12? I was under the impression that '69 's were A 12. I know that 6-pack was offered in '70, but I did not consider them A 12. The 6-pack was offered on E bodies and B. '69's had an aluminum Edelbrock intake and '70's has cast iron.
An engine builder that I know says that solid rollers start to get out of round at around 5,000 miles. I just took a solid roller out of my Hemi, it was in there when I bought it, no idea how many miles are on it. There are chatter marks on the lobes. I'm on the street so I went with a...
I had the back cam plug out " water freeze plug", and used a dial indicator. I also used the roller bearing cam button, not the nylon. The stock cover flexes quite easily. You won't have what I used to fill the space between the water pump housing and the timing cover. I used flox and epoxy...
Electronic ignition doesn't like low voltage either. If you have everything up to the distributor, rotor and cap okay? When starting, getting 12 volts to coil on ignition 1?
I'm almost 76, wiring is easy, plug and play. Pull the front seats and steering column if you replace the dash harness. Just finished a total M&H rewire on my Road Runner. To get your engine bay back, really, you need to pull the engine, that's too nice of a car to half *** it. Same with...
The starters alignment is the snout into the bellhousing. That top hole, too large, larger than the bottom bolt hole, is just there to help hold it in place. Seems like you may have a wrong starter.
Two things, is that a cogged belt? Second, if a belt bottoms out in a pulley groove, it will never stop squealing. A/C belts were solid matched belts. Don't believe they are available any longer.
I would go with the tall yellow springs in the outboards. To adjust them properly, should have Promax base throttle plates in the outboards. It's probably got a 6.5 power valve in the center carb. Would go to a higher number with that, thinking 10.5 on that. I tried for so long to get rid...
Can you tell us what you have? Stock carbs or Promax modified? Are you able to take them apart yourself? I just went through this myself. Your gonna have alot to do in an afternoon, hopefully that person has all of the separate parts and gaskets that you will need.
Having built an Experimental aircraft, unless there is a call out, there isn't anything special about aircraft aluminum. For tubing, I used both 3003 and 5052. The 3003 is soft compared to the 5052. What is specific about using AN fittings, is using the the correct flaring tool, not...
Why would you want the control arms to rest on the bump stops? Bump stops are for excessive travel, as hitting a pot hole or severe change vertically on the road surface. Sounds like you have several other issues to deal with. Torsion bars shouldn't be loose. Someone else here with more...
Seems odd, I replaced the molded pad on my ,'72 Dart " looks just like Mike's " and did not have an issue with the metal clips. It is very helpful to have a second set of hands to help hold it in place till you have it placed correctly. If you do get a hood pad, don't bother with the pad...
The '69 Hemi Road Runner that I am trying to get together had a 4-speed, I even got a scattershield for it. Then decided the hell with it, I'm getting an automatic. So it's now got a 727 reverse valve body Coan trans in it. I'm not looking back. Be happy!
Yes, you can do it. I did it on my '69 Road Runner. I did have pretty much everything out of the dash though. Steering column, gauges, radio and heater. Oh, and definitely the front seat out. I had all of that out anyway, from there, not that difficult.
