So now I also wonder if the glue he would clean with lacquer thinner was that MEK stuff. There was a time when he had a furniture shop and it seemed he was always gluing linoleum or some thin veneer. Also doing all this while smoking a cigar.
Reminds me of my dad, he would use lacquer thinner and other stuff like that all the time with no protective equipment. Who can say if its why he got prostate cancer, but it couldn't have helped.
My first pass was on an 1/8th, don't remember what I ran but I was in a 1981 Accord and they put me against some kind of rail, so I had a great view of a cool car, but it beat the hell out of me.

I guess if you make a top from scratch the biggest tool is a proper sewing machine? I don't disagree about the average guy, I just don't think most of us on this forum are average. Average guys for the most part, don't keep cars this old on the road, they either have extra skills or a lot of...
Just gonna throw out there that this is who I bought my Coronet from. Really easy to deal with dude who answered my questions and I feel was very honest with the ad.
This reminds me, years ago so things may have changed, my brother killed himself with no will behind, just weird notes everywhere. In what seemed like a last minute note near the scene he wrote that his Mustang (a 92 4 banger) goes to me. I had to fill out a probate form at the DMV and wait...
