I'm glad he is going to restore it. No disrespect meant by this next statement. It's just to hard of a sell when they are torn apart like that, if it had the floor installed and kind of bolted back together I believe it would be easier to unload. That is a very awesome car!!
My 512 has been beat on for years now. It has around 10:5 compression but I have to run 93 octane or it will detonate a touch at wot. I would back off the timing just a touch but it gets really picky about timing. Couple degrees one way or the other and it runs bad. I notice a difference in "93"...
For whomever said these cars didn't come like that. This is an all original 69 Hemi Charger that has around 30k original miles. See the painted wheel? The rear has a spare on it but, the original painted wheel is in the trunk along with all 4 hub caps.
I question that number and, I will tell you why. 1st, look around, there are plenty of them for sale not bringing those kinds of numbers.
2nd., a friend of mine has a 67 Hemi 4spd Charger...real Hemi 4spd car (they made 59 of them) restored in the late 80's by him. Nice car but not perfect. Not...
I see lots of responses giving you opinions on what we feel its worth based on your description. The people like myself who have said it needs a lot of work left to be finished are telling you that to explain why we feel it's worth somewhere between 10k and 15k. The heavy lifting is in the body...
I can honestly say if he found someone to put a "show" quality paint job on that car for 14k he had better jump on it!! I do body and paint on the side and have zero overhead and I wouldn't do it for 14k. That is a lot of car to Skim, sand, sand, sand, primer, sand...
Someone earlier seemed to rebuke the thought that there are 100's of hours left to finish this Charger. I painted this car a couple years back and I had way over 100 hours in this car. Keep in mind this was a very clean southern California car that needed zero rust repair. Sure, there were some...
I was thinking around that at top dollar. Sure, there are some restored pieces and, "all" the parts are tagged and bagged but, the drivetrain to anybody looking at it had to be assumed of needing freshened up and then there is paint and body.
IF it was for himself he is not but, this car in question is no longer for himself. The owner would be stuck with it if they ever wanted to sell it and had a thought of trying to recoup the investment.
