    Thanks. I thought that's how it would work. I guess my only concern with going that way is whether a 4th gear that is used the most and now going through the counter shaft would become a weak point. A gear that is locked on the main shaft (1:1) I would think would be alot stronger.

    third becomes 1:1 not sure if that goes through the counter shaft or if its the direct gear. Can't see how you could have forth being direct as its not 1:1 so I assume would then have to go through the counter shaft.

    Thanks for that clarification. I did look on the Brewers site but they only state the outside diameter not the shaft size. I don't need to replace it but am just measureing everything and making a note of all parts I have in my trans for future reference.

    Not yet. I guess its inside the trans. Is it likely to be a bearing or gears. I've never had one apart before. I haven't had the car for long and my understanding is the first and second syncros were done not long ago. When I strip it down is it likely to be obvious. Appreciate any thoughts.

    Looking for parts for my Dodge Charger rear differential.

    Cheers I've verified the ratio by turning the drive shaft by hand and seeing the wheel rotation. There is also a tag on one of the cover bolts that says 3.54. Im pretty sure thats what it is without pulling anything apart. It is bearable but would be nice to get the revs down when cruising...
