Pics from Back in the Day

Circa 1988. At my Mom's house between duty stations. Just got my 340 back from the local machine shop (Cram McCalls). Dropping it in before heading up to Whidbey Island for J-52 engine school...in the pickup. Picked up the hoist on the way home...told the owner I'd be back in an hr or...

Were do these body plugs go?

Some go in the floor under the carpet. Some go in the trunk under the trunk mat/ spare tire Oblong one goes in firewall/driver's side. Small ones go in the trunk lid... Match them up to same size holes.

    Underwhelming Coronet

To be able to figure out your gear ratio without removing the 3rd member (you don't have a diff cover on a 741): 1. Rear wheels off the ground/ axle on jack stands 2. Mark the tire on the bottom inside sidewall. 3. With car in neutral, rotate the driveshaft one full revolution while counting the...

    Underwhelming Coronet

In '65 the '440' on a Coronet was a trim level. Engine options were: 273, 318, 361, 383, and 426 Hemi. The original 318 would have been a 'Poly' 318. Looks like you may have the later ('67 and later) LA 318. Very nice car though! Drive it and enjoy it!

    New to forum and mopars

Welcome! By the photos, it looks like a well done engine swap. The wagon also appears to be in excellent condition! An attention getter for sure. Fun project. The 'smiles per mile' will be high, I'm sure.

    I hate chainsaws

Inherited a '78 Homelite Super XL back in 1990...20" bar, case, same metal on off switch you mentioned, and ZERO safety features! Yes it's a bit heavier than the plastic bodied saws, and you DO have to 'know the right words' to get it started. I have been to multiple tree parties with it and...

    1967 Dodge Charger Seat Belts

It bolts to the floor...bolt goes thru it, and the seatbelt...into the floor...front seat...outside of driver, and passenger seating.

1966 Coronet Tie Rods, OEM or something else?

I missed the idler arm mount in the photos. You are correct.

1966 Coronet Tie Rods, OEM or something else?

I dunno...The K frame looks just like the one in my '66 Belvedere II...and I'm pretty sure they are the same. Mine is original to the car. I know this because my uncle bought the car new.

1966 Charger Hemi No Sale Again at Mecum

A thorough detail would be time/ effort (money?) well spent on this. Reminds me of someone trying to sell a house, expecting top dollar, but doesn't bother cleaning it up before listing it...then baffled why they get no 'good' offers.

Hood Remove, How to Mark 66 Coronet

One hole, with the bit 'installed' makes sure you're aligned, front to back... and will hold the hood while you insert bolts. You are correct, the 'witness marks' from the washers will get you to the 'up & down' finish line.
