    66 satellite parts

Fibreglass parts are never perfect out of the box. Some are better than others, but you must figure that you will be body working them to make them fit and to make them look even half straight. It's the nature of fiberglass. I have installed many oem vette panels that needed work to make them...

    Blocking question

The dent must be small enough if he didn't catch it before priming... As Adam mentioned, putty and reshoot the primer. Putty is a hell of a lot cheaper than primer-surfacer! And surfacer is only a few thousands of an inch thick per pass!

Rear frame rails - which brand is best?

I have been avoiding weighing in here, but I have to put my 2 cents in... OEM (used) is the best and only way to go. It is great that companies like AMD etc make parts for our cars, but I am very Leary of reproduced structural parts for the following reason. It's common knowledge that in the...

Need to respray over base coat clear coat..

Re-scuff with 5-600 to knock down the orange peel, clean with a mild wax and grease remover and re-spray. Try to avoid sanding through on the edges. Paint is thinnest at those points. If you burn through to metal, etch then spot prime those areas. If you sand through to base coat, you can...

    Spray Chrome

I have some Kosmic Krome from HOK and it was a very fussy procedure with disappointing results. I have some fibreglass bumpers that I would like to do up. That is obviously an electrostatic application, looks cool! Has anyone here tried? What are the costs?

    Keystone Clear Coat

In all fairness, I know nothing about SPI materials. I see that they are a startup company out of Georgia. Good to see materials being produced in North America. I cannot speak to their quality, but I have seen many inexpensive materials yellow over time or actually break down or die off...

    Keystone Clear Coat

Every major paint manufacturer has a budget line and a hi-line. As an example, PPG has Omni as a lo-line and Nexa as their hi-line. Today, it's difficult to say which major paint company has the best clears at the premium level. I am currently using Glasurit from BASF. Beautiful product, but I...

    Keystone Clear Coat

With any of the lo-buck clears, they may look good initially but traditionally you get what you pay for, die off, lack of UV blockers etc are reality. In my mind, if you put all the effort into the bodywork and prep, it deserves the best icing you can put on the cake...lol Just my experience...

Thanks Propwash... the left 1/4 panel is perfect on my 66, the right has the typical over the wheelhouse perforations. I guess it's going to put my metalworking skills to the test!

    67 Belvedere: 4dr parts on a 2dr HT?

Roof lines/height is different between the 2 door and 4 door, I believe the X-member should be the same. The wheelhouse? the back glass...no. I suppose the question should be asked, 2 door post or HT?

Yes, it's a game of thousand's of an inch between good flow and overheating issues. I don't think I'm going to risk it. It's kind of pretty though!
