    71-74 Satellite rocker replacement

yeah, those look flat though too. When I ordered mine, I was like well, maybe the pic is just a stock one and the actual parts will be curved... nope, they looked exactly like the pic, were not curved. I had to cut a triangle off the leading edge also to match the existing metal where the...

    71-74 Satellite rocker replacement

well, 'classics2customs' doesn't return any sites... I know I saw some years ago that were curved but I can't find it anymore, just these flat/angular deals.

    71-74 Satellite rocker replacement

Hey, everyone... maybe a quick question. I ordered replacement rockers for my 74 Satellite and they're not curved like the original rockers on my car. I looked around and these angular deals are all I can find, nothing that is curved to fit my car. Is this normal? Are we just expected to...

    Ben's Satellite

Okay... got the one piece tacked in... I couldn't find any 4-inch wide 1/8 inch steel for the sides, so I welded two 2-inch pieces together. Had my stepson try it first... he's taking welding in high school. He finally gave up, said my welder is crappy and the stick isn't big enough (kinda...

    Ben's Satellite

I finally got the cross-member out... pounded the rusted out side down about 1/4 inch to be even with the passenger side... trimmed a piece of 1/8x2-inch length of steel to weld in as the new 'keel' for that side of the crossmember. It's so filthy, I know I need to clean it all up and blast it...

73-74 satellite or roadrunner... why don't 71-72 quarters work?

The more I look at examples, the more it's super obvious now. Thanks again!

73-74 satellite or roadrunner... why don't 71-72 quarters work?

yep, stephens performance still sells the rear patch, according to their web site, but the part has disappeared from other places I've looked. I'm not ready to go wild on body panels but I'm probably going to pick those rear panels up before they're totally gone.

73-74 satellite or roadrunner... why don't 71-72 quarters work?

I know, I know, I know... 'they don't fit'. I'd like to know why before I succumb to weakness and order some sheet metal for my 74 satty because nobody makes full quarters for them and nobody makes the front quarter patch panels either. Is it a style issue? Is there some fundamental...

    Style vs Engineering

I don't like the new challengers and I'm disappointed in the restyled 2015 Charger front ends. For my two cents, if I have to choose between style and engineering, I go for engineering. When I was at the 'vette museum in KY, I spent the most time just looking at the no-body frame car they had...

    1973 Roadrunner-Colemans Project

This is a great thread... you have a lot more metal left on your car than I have on my '74 Satty... I'm like "ah, so THAT is what the quarter panels are supposed to look like..." :headbang: I'm in the process of taking out the floor also, it's great seeing pics of what that's going to look...

    Ben's Satellite

Well, not quite a year later... <sigh> I've been trying to get my driver's side torsion bar frame cap installed... I can't do it. First of all, I'm not a good welder... second, I've only got a cheap stick welder. Third, the car is just up on jackstands, not a nice rotisserie... and thirdly...

Nevermind, I got the strut out... enough liquid wrench and then just the breaker bar. I had to take my bench vise and clamp it to the opposite end of the strut and then stand on it to keep it from twisting when I was pulling on the breaker bar. Good times. Need to order those spot weld...

Well, I got everything off of the K-member except the passenger strut rod which is being obstinate. Question... is there any place to get a new replacement strut rod for a 74 Satellite??? I can't find it anywhere. I'd love to just cut the old one out but... obviously not if I can't get a...
