72 Roadrunner from my youth. The car originally had a 340. Car was wrecked by exchange student. (We broke some rules there) My father and I put it back together with a Satellite. The motor came from a nearby town. The man that owned it had a daughter. We now have three boys and the car!
I have 15x8.5" rims with 0" offset. I have 295/60-15 Mickey thompsons and the well is full. I don't know that it is the best size, but it is pretty much the max size without relocating the springs.
We may not like what he did to the car, but somebody paid big bucks for the car. I hope they wanted the original engine with the deal. Never been a big fan of these characters, but since they have been helping with the Hellcat rollout, I tolerate them more. They have been working on Mopars a...
I have a steering column for a 70 RR that I need to replace the upper main shaft in. The steering wheel was removed and vice grips installed to move the car around. This really messed up the splines. This is a floor shift car with a console. I do have a 70 satellite with column shift. Are...
We are putting a 727 together using the SMR component kit. The instructions call for a brass thrust washer to be used between the two shafts and it should be included with our kit. We have the pro sportsman kit. There was no brass washer to be found. There is what appears to be a thrust...
Thought I would bore you all with my "baby pictures". My father and I put this car together when I was in high school 25 years ago. The motor went bad and it sat for several years. I decided it was time to fix it up and I started to put on disc brakes. I got injured in the middle of that project...
I had to convince myself to jam the feeler in, once I did that I pulled the handle and it came right out. With the wd-40, it should go in. If it appears gunked up, you may try some carb cleaner and air to clean it out, then the wd-40.
The information from the Mopar Action article is what I was looking for. Thank you for everyone's input. I have manual steering, but I think I will aim for the high speed stability and higher turning effort. As an extra benefit, I can tell my wife that I need to take the car for a drive for...
No, I just wanted to get the most up to date specs given the use of radials and poly susp bushings. I didn't know if we should still use the data from 1972 as the best set up. Thank you for your help.
Does anyone have alignment specs for a 72 RR? I am sure the shop has the settings, but I didn't know if there is any adjustment to improve the car's handling.
Yeah, I checked with MT and they told me 8" was okay for the tire. If I went with the Sportsman SR on the rear they wanted a minimum 8.5". Tires should be here Fri. afternoon. Hopefully I can get them mounted to check clearance and post pics.
Boy, I hope these tires will fit without rubbing. About 10 years ago, I had 295/60-15 Hoosier QT DOT with the wrinkle walls. Fun tires for straight blasts, but on less than ideal roads, the back end wallerred around bad. Anyway, they didn't seem to rub on 8" wheels with centered offset. I...

Jayhawks are the mascot of the University of Kansas. Jayhawk is a term that was used to describe free state, anti-slavery groups around the civil war time. The Jayhawk is mythical supposedly part bluejay and part sparrow hawk. So, yeah, there, more info than you will ever want to know.
Roadrunner is getting the engine redone, and I am just about finished. I decided to repaint the engine bay as well. Cuda pic is from a couple years ago, but it looks the same, I however am bigger.
Hello everyone. I live in nw Kansas and have a couple of my old high school cars still. 1972 Roadrunner with a transplanted 426 hemi and a 1970 'Cuda with a 440+6 (383 originally) were both cars that I had in high school in the '80's. I am just about to get the '72 RR back on the road. I...
